light drizzle messing up driver assist systems??

I've started noticing that even in the slightest rain, I get an error (center of mph gauge) that reads "some driver assist systems cannot operate: clean front windshield or poor viewing condition". Any idea what's causing this issue and or where the sensor is? Surely a light drizzle isn't supposed to impede the functionality of this system. It's still under warranty and I will bring to dealer. Just wondering if anyone else experienced this.

If it happens even when the wipers are operating and keeping the camera/sensor area clear, that seems odd. The only time I get warnings like that in my other vehicles is when there is snow/ice/frost in that area that has not yet defrosted. But rain should not be an issue if the wipers are keeping that area clear.

If you look at the upper center area of the windshield above the rear view mirror, it will be obvious where the cameras/sensors are.

I don’t have an answer, but I get the same error with the slightest fog in or outside the car. It will sometimes keep popping up over and over again while driving.

I”ve had a few of the nannies complain in heavy snow. Some sonar warning, the parking sensors go ballistic, and the adaptive cruise stops working. We’ve had nonstop snow and cold in upstate NY (I’m not complaining, the skiing has been good) so I haven’t washed the car in over a month. I get the snow causing problems, at times there has been an inch of slush/salt/snow/dirt mixture on the bumper after a drive. Rain shouldn’t cause an issue, I’ve driven in some heavy downpours without a problem.

Not normal IMO.

Never had a problem in the rain. Never had a problem when super cold.

Only problem was in a snow storm. Sensors were covered with snow/ice. Went away as soon as conditions were OK and sensors cleaned from snow/ice.

Is there a way to dismiss the “driver assist…” notification? It was driving me nuts on an early morning drive with sensors fogged up.

hey, do you have an update about what was causing this? My 2024 has been at the dealer three times and they can’t figure it out, and im super frustrated.

Did you ever take your car in? I haven’t seen any updates from anyone with this issue, so I’m trying to figure out what the problem could be and help the tech out who has had my car three times.

This sounds like how it's supposed to work, if it's really crazy and you can't see any more than the car can. But slight drizzle or barely any moisture should not be affecting the cameras this badly.

Happens to mine too. It rains a lot in the Seattle area. Both fog and rain cause this. The most annoying is when I’m highway driving (light rain or misty) and the condition turns off cruise control.

I have not. I just assumed this system was shitty compared to Ford, Toyota, Subaru, and BMW vehicles I’ve driven. The car has so many cut corners and old tech that I assumed it was normal.
