Wow that hollow titanium sound is great at cold start but is this deleting the valves? That’s a no go for me.

not a titanium fan myself. Would rather stainless

it’s dope tho!

Looks like no valve, but they are making a version that's compliant with JDM market that may have one. They also offer a stainless version for the FL5 so maybe they'll offer that for De5 too. We'll see I guess.

Why do these downward facing tips make think about a dog hunkering down to take a shit? Am I the weirdo?

no bro. It looks stupid as hell cuz it doesn’t photograph well. They look better in person but are still an acquired taste. I dig the look on some cars, the reverb off the ground at wide open would probably be neat

Thought about this

if they make the bitch 3.2” to 3.5” WITH MATCHING TITANIUM FRONTPIPE, make sure there’s a valve so comfort won’t piss my neighbors off and a resonator. I’ll pay up to 8k for it. Even tho I’ll regret it cuz it’s titanium.

They don't really turn down all that much. And yea like UWU said, in-person it looks more natural.

For me it reminds me of my 90s/00s JDM tuner car roots.

These are on an FK8 obviously but:

Fk8 definitely has the ass for it. I wonder if the de5 would too?

If you like dual exit, HKS will be bringing their Legamax Sport exhaust to the ITS platform. Not sure when, but it is definitely coming
That’s dope. Gotta hear it first. Past few years the legamax sound has been off on a few cars I’ve noticed.

I love to see some new alternative exhausts for these cars. That being said when they are dual tips it would be nice if they spaced them tighter with a filler spacer for the rear bumper... The gap just doesn't look right and giant tips trying to fill it on a small car kills it for me... That being said I do like the the slight turn downs!

I'm very for titanium exhausts to go lighter weight, but given how these engines sound I would have expected something a bit more than just basic pipe and basic res/muffler design.

Turn down tips are a turn it down for me. Not into the 05 Honda accord look, personally.

I'd be curious what the Japan compliant version looks like. Either way, more than 4k for Japanese titanium is absurdly overpriced. The yen is weak, these shouldn't be that expensive 😒.

Well... if the Borla is almost $3k then this sort of makes sense.

Ultimately this seems like it tracks more towards the crowd that doesn't care about drone. The clips I've heard of the FK8 with this exhaust sound pretty good, but I've also seen complaints about "boominess".

Not relevant to this discussion but just as a reference point, I just bought a Good-Win Racing Race muffler for my ND3 Miata. It's basically a straight pipe with a giant Helmholtz. It's fucking perfect. It really is loud when I want it to be and not intrusive when I don't. It's kind of ruined exhausts for me now... but it can be pretty damn loud. For a roadster I drive on specific occasions that's fine, but I'm not sure I'd want it on the DE5 every single day. But I would at least consider it, because it sounds better than any other ND exhaust I've heard. I can't help but wonder what a similar setup would be like on the DE5. I guess the Borla comes closest?
