Should this have one more bar for optimum driving temperature? Is this a problem? No mods, oem ITS.

I'll second that I've never seen the 5th bar even during the summer in Arizona. Going back to my 8th gen civic it was the same way. I'm not sure why Honda/Acura seems to refuse to put numbers on their temp gauges. The advice I've always gotten is if the gauge is ever higher or lower (given sufficient time to warm up), more than likely something is wrong.

Most all of the stock temp gauges these days are idiot gauges . MFGs moved to lowest common denominator engineering years ago so they didn't get questions about gauges moving past 1/2 or what not, or it went up 10f in stop/go traffic with the AC on, must be broken.

Remeber, a person is smart, people are stupid.

Whatever the normal place the gauge is, there is a wide range of temp movement before it moves off that spot. That's when you should start to be concerned.

I do appreciate the few cars that do allow for actual temperature view both oil and water: its rare.

That stays at 4 bars from 165 - 203 degrees at least... haven't seen ECT get above that. Mine usually sits at 195
