Mazda went nuts drilling holes into glass and framing to keep the miata lightweight.Interesting... connected to the August 19th press release is a spec page which includes the 2026 ITS. Sadly, I'm not seeing anything different from the previous model years. No memory seat for the driver, no power seat for the passenger, no rear usb/venting... nothing except the new colours.I'm still keeping my slot for a 2026 pre-order, but disappointed that some of these easy additions weren't brought into the DE5 from the DE4.

100%.Maybe I'm just a jaded negative Nancy, but it actually puzzles me why anyone would have expectations of changes to this platform. It's clearly a one-and-done, Honda killing it off in the UK and their own domestic market kind of validates that, doesn't it? Why the hell would they add creature comforts on a car that's at the end of its product lifecycle? No profit-mongering company in their right minds would ever do such a thing, so why are people disappointed when it doesn't happen?
Let's just be honest... That's a good thing for this car and all the people on this forum...100%.
Additionally, Johnathon Rivers made clear when this car was announced that it was a passion project, pushed by engineers, that was extremely lucky to have been given the green light. There's no way they're investing in further development of this car. To date, they've probably produced ~7k units (approx. 300 / mo. in 2025). Production costs have gone up in the past year, and auto sales forecasts aren't great. This is a run-out vehicle. I would not be shocked if it is EOL after '26 MY (considering the FL5 is EOL and this is the last vehicle in their lineup with this powertrain).
