Made a quick vid below of how to disable the Active noise cancelation (ANC) module in the Integra.
This is required if you are installing an aftermarket subwoofer. This was done on the Type-s which also appears to slightly amplify the engine sound (fake engine sounds). Definity a more natural sounding engine as the RPM's go up with this disabled.

Appreciate you taking the time to make a great tutorial video. I know these take time and effort, but it definitely helps others out there.

Any downside of removing this? I didn't even hear the fake noise...

But if there is any Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) features of this part, might lose that in the process!

Correct. This is purely if informational and some will want it disabled if they install aftermarket amp and sub as it will cause the sub to feedback. ANC is designed to use your speakers to help cancel out unwanted road noise. As far as fake engine noises there are discrepancies between the FL5 and the DE5. FL5 is confirmed to have the fake engine noise. From some of what I have come across some say it is in the DE5 and some say not. I have a lot of after market parts which make extra noise but I can say that it does sound subtly different but only in higher RPM’s.

I had a BRZ before my ITS, and it had ANC, which I didn’t like. I disconnected it, and the boxer engine sounded great on its own. I did the same thing with my ITS, but I couldn’t hear any difference whether it was plugged in or not. I tested it in all three driving modes as well.

So I did a quick AI search, and it said the ITS has both ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) and ASC (Active Sound Control). They work pretty much as expected. ANC is active all the time, regardless of the selected driving mode, which is a win. ASC is also active in all driving modes, but the volume changes depending on the mode. In Individual mode, it’s tied to the Engine (throttle response) setting, so it can be adjusted as needed.

Since I couldn’t hear any difference and ANC stays active all the time, I’m going to leave mine plugged in.

Same bro. I didn’t even hear any difference at all. To be fair tho, I’ll concede maybe I just wasn’t capable of hearing a Difference. Allegedly my hearing in my left ear is bad. Allegedly. Freaking pain in the ass but I eventually plugged it back in.
