one is either an Acura specific compound, but likely it's a compound for Porsche or BMW or something. It's usually noted though.

Afternoon, I just started browsing on Tirerack (I am at 4400 miles or less) and I noticed Tirerack has 2 seperate listings for these. One is $355 each while the other is $382 each ... what is the difference between the both of them ?

https://www.tirerack.com/tires/TireSearchResults.jsp?tireIndex=0&autoMake=Acura&autoYear=2024&autoModel=Integra Type S&autoModClar=&width=265/&ratio=30&diameter=19&sortCode=57646&skipOver=true&minSpeedRating=Z&minLoadRating=XL&performance=ALL
Typically it’s because one is made in the US which would be the cheaper one and the one that’s more expensive is made in France.

Just to bump this thread, I will be ordering a new set of tires late December into early January ... my rear pads will be getting replaced at the dealer on Weds. I am down to 2mm of rear pads (11600 miles). Any alterantives to the Michelins and any sales popping up anyone know about ?

This is wrong.

There are two tread types in this size. The regular ps4s and the "dt1" ps4s. The dt1 is the type s specific tire, which appears to be a little more heat tolerant, narrower, and louder than the standard ps4s.

I recently had my factory PS4S tires installed on new OEM copper wheels as my summer setup. I initially used the tires about three months before switching to Pilot Alpine 5s for winter. Long story short I had to get the copper wheels/PS4S setup balanced five times at three different places (the dealer being the first) before the third place checked carefully and noticed all four tires ā€œhoppedā€, meaning there’s some distortion in the tire. Also, three of the wheels were out of balance and finally they got balanced correctly.

Has anyone had issues with the factory tires as described? I notice that the ride isn’t completely smooth at higher speeds. I don’t think it was like that prior to taking the tires off and putting the winters on. Maybe I’m just paying closer attention because of the issue with them not being balanced. Any info would be appreciated!

I noticed a balancing issue the first time I could open her up and run some higher speeds. My current set of summers I took to a performance shop that only does suspension work and alignments for race cars, bunch of Corvettes and porches in the shop. After I slapped these on the car itfelt like I was riding on glass.

Thanks for the response! There’s a performance shop here in the twin cities, Imola, that I’ve taken the teggy to before. Maybe I will go there to get it sorted!

You could always call to make sure they have a road force balancing machine. Some other local tire shops have the same equipment but aren't trained or experienced to properly use it.

Also I used the same shop for my alignment. They pulled the camber pins for the front and all hardware they touched were marked after torquing with a paint pen.

From their website:

Offering the latest equipment from Hunter Equipment, we use a TC37 partially automated tire changer with all plastic contact points; and their matching Road Force balancer.

These guys do great work! They work on supercars all the time.
