Hey guys,

Does anyone else's driver seat squeaks annoyingly? I bought my Integra brand new in November of 2022. As of now, it only has about 7k miles on it. This is the 4th time my local dealership attempted to fix this. It's been ongoing since the beginning of my ownership. They probably had the car in the shop for 3-5 weeks collectively for all the repair attempts. I picked up the car yesterday and the shop manager said they reached out to Acura Tech Support for further help because they've done all they can at the local level. They replaced the seat bracket, took the seat out to have it recushioned, etc. prior. The manager said he needs their approval to change the seat out.

He called me today and said that Acura Tech Support stated this happens in other Integra's as well and deemed it as a 'characteristic' of the car. I am dumbfound because this has never happened in any of the cars I've owned prior...even my last Acura (TSX) was rock solid at almost 200k miles.

I'm 5'10" at 165 lbs, and the seat squeaks just from driving around town.

Here's the video I sent to the manager a couple of weeks ago. This was me just moving my body slightly while parked:

Update:
Just picked up the car today (6/16/25). Attaching what they replaced in case it would benefit other members. I’ve only driven 10 miles home so we will see if it will come back or not.

That is terrible. Mine doesn't do that and I'm a big guy (weight). Could you imagine it doing that when you took it out for a test drive and they tell you it's a characteristic. Maybe take it to another dealer?

Yes, I got that randomly but when I raised the seat up a tiny bit it went away.

Still don't think it's a "characteristic" and is BS.

"We designed our cars to be super squeaky and full of rattles. That's their main characteristic. Come drive one to see for yourself".

- Acura

Complete BS!

Thanks for the feedbacks, guys. I've owned 2 Honda's and 2 Acura's. I've always seen the brand in good light, but this has changed my view. I am taking the car to a different dealership tomorrow to see what they say.

I've changed the seating position, but it makes no difference at all.

Tell them that you haven't seen anywhere in the brochure that the seat should squeak.

I see you're in SoCal (as am I). Which bs dealership did you take it to initially?

Acura of Glendale. I've been going to them since 2010 with my TSX. Granted, that car was rock solid so I didn't come back to the dealership for many issues.

I went to Acura of Sherman Oaks today. The advisor said the technician who saw my car also has an Integra and became their 'resident' tech for Integra related issues. They ordered new brackets for the lumbar and will contact me when it arrives.

I have no idea how they think this is normal. No amount of audio can flush it out, and you can feel the squeaking due to the friction.

Good to know! I got my car from Glendale as well and they pooh-poohed my complaints of this noise on the drivers side door. That really turned me off from taking my car back to them for other noise issues.

If you don't mind, can you PM me the name your service advisor? I wouldn't mind driving to Sherman Oaks if they're willing to help.

Mine just started doing this same exact thing once the weather warmed up a little so i'm sure it's due to the humidity but mine makes this noise anytime my weight shifts left or right in the car which is all the time. I'm about the start the service appointment process as I can't take it anymore.

Humidity is not a factor where I live. It’s gotten worse for me. Any movement from say turning the steering wheel to looking to the sides will trigger the noise. There is absolutely no way anyone can live with this.
I’m attaching this in case it helps you. Keep us updated!

Mine does this. It didn't always but i did take a turn fairly agressive while trying to pull my wallet out of my pocket which drove my right side into the back support at a funny angle. I heard a pop/click and now it makes the squeaky noise when i take a turn too sharp.

Almost positive it's the frame of the seat itself under the foam. Likely has a plastic backing that's broke loose off the frame.

Took mine in today and got told by the tech that it was just the two different materials (leather/suede) making noises and told them no it's definitely metal making the noise. Went out at lunch and recorded this and sent it to them. Mine sounds identical to your video as well so maybe i'll point them to your post on the parts used.

It does sound identical to mine. That is a crappy answer they gave you. I wonder how many more complaints it will take before they take action on the mass scale. We represent a small amount of Integra owners so I am sure others have this issue as well.

There is no way to drown out the sound even if you want to. Every movement triggers it.
