Cannot clear parking assist and brake assist warnings!

Hello ladies and gents. I recently pulled my front bumper to replace the lower grill that was damaged, as well as install a front lip. I stupidly turned the key to ignition while the harness’ were unplugged, and now I have the parking assist and low speed mitigation braking warnings.

I purchased a kingbolen Soloscan Bidirectional scanner made specifically for Honda/ Acura; and read it would take care of these codes. The scanner did pull up parking assist error, but when I cleared it nothing happened. Also can’t seem to get into BCM function which I read you were supposed to be able to- so I can’t even attempt to clear any brake codes. Any idea what I need to do here? Without going to dealer.

not really planning on buying an expensive scanner when I read this $80 just for Honda and Acura has full functionality that would need. Maybe I’m just missing something, pretty unclear directions.

I think this is the issue, the Soloscan lacks CANfd and Forward Collision Avoidance (FCA) support.

That said, I have a TOPDON RLink J2534 and it works with iHDS to clear these codes.

When you start the car with systems unplugged it throws tons of errors on your dash. These should just clear after a drive cycle. They're not engine codes that require a bidirectional scanner, it's a more of a systems warning.

The same thing happens when your car goes in limp mode due to heat or boost leak or similar.

Cold start the engine (don't let it warm up) and drive for about 10-15 mins and it should be gone.

If you have a tune, you can just reflash the tune

I have driven multiple trips with no reset unfortunately. I’ve tried unplugging battery for 30 mins as well.

I can never get it with the drive cycle either so I usually just reflash the tune.

Curious though.. did you double check the harness clip at the top center of the bumper? It's a small one. Should be 5 harness clips in total

Yes, I’m not tuned. I for sure plugged the middle bumper harness, as well as the 2 on each corner for a total of 5.

Dang, pretty much out of ideas. I've had the same issue 3 times - once from boost leak (limp mode), once from not plugging in the MAF harness, and once from not plugging in the throttle pedal harness.

But if its the Christmas tree dash from a harness not being plugged, full ECU drive cycle should clear it. Threw my experiences + your issue in AI:
