I think those are gonna look great!

Regarding the lug nuts, I wouldn't pay money for black lug nuts that aren't PVD Chrome McGards. The OEM lug nuts that came on the car are already starting to rust on me.

McGard uses a really tough finish on their black lugs that lasts. You'll pay for the privilege however.

They also have an integrated washer which lets you get consistent torque.

Those gorilla ones I mentioned are appealing because they're 19mm. I could likely fit the non marring socket in the opening. Others have mentioned that 21/22 sockets won't fit unless it's thin wall (and maybe not even then).

The McGard ones I sent are a proprietary type of McGard spline drive. They will fit for sure.

People will poo-poo spline drive, but I've had a set of McGards for the summer TRD wheels on my Tacoma for eleven years. They get uninstalled and reinstalled once a year when I swap out for the winter set. Still in great shape, the key is to never use an impact on them.

McGard's spline drive design also uses a hard right-angle edge on the splines, instead of the rounded splines you see on virtually all other spline drive lug nuts. It makes a big difference in reusability.

I ordered 2 cheap sets on Amazon to hold me over. I need to get them mounted asap. It's getting colder around me.

Thanks for the info about the McGard set, they look nice. I'm certainly going to look into better lug nuts but that will come second at this point.

The owners manual says 35psi in front for models with 18 and 19 inch wheels. Granted the stock 18 inch size is for the A spec (235/40/18). Rear is 33psi regardless of size.

How much should the pressure be adjusted going from 265/30/19 > 265/35/18? Or should it be left at 35/33?

This calculator says it should be 31/29. That sounds awfully low.

That's correct. Lower is good, it helps with comfort. At the end of the day it's all about load rating. If you over spec tire then you need less pressure.

Chalk test if you want to be sure.

Optimal tire pressure (for an even contact patch) is a function of weight. These cars are relatively light.

Google around for an "xl tire pressure to load index chart" and you'll get some good results to help illustrate the point. Take the original load index and psi and find the intersecting "load weight" that it identifies. Then find the load index rating of your new tire and follow it along until you hit a load weight as similar to the previous one as possible. Follow that up to the psi column.

The sidewall of different sizes is supporting the rim differently and carries an inherent spring rate to it. One of the ways you can tune "spring rate" of the whole suspension to fine tune your setup is to change tire pressure. That pressure directly relates to the tire compression rate and how far it will compress to absorb impact. The sidewall stiffness from the rubber is the other factor that changes as height changes. It's preferable to have more sidewall (to a point) so that pressure changes can have greater variation, especially in a fwd car. Taller sidewalls tend to support more load and have more range, so they need less pressure to maintain the same weight.

Got them on the car just in time. It snowed a little the day after I put them on. Started with 33/31 and dropped it to 31/29. So far I'm happy with the setup. It's killed some of the road noise which is a nice bonus.

Lol I was hoping you were referring to my neighbors minivan but it's not in the pictures. The S2k mainly collects dust these days, less than 500 miles a year.

Those cars just have great feel at the limit. I had a guy with a yellow one in my HPDE class recently and out of all of my students in the downpour we had, he was moving the fastest. At one point down the main straight (it's really a quarter mile long curve that slowly turns 60 degrees), he was sideways and accelerating! I attribute his rapid learning and progress entirely to the feel and feedback. Golden era of Honda right there.

Golden era for sure, that's why I'll never get rid of it. Every time selling it has crossed my mind, I'll drive it and afterwards say "Yeah, that's why I still keep it".
