Y'all. I need to do the right thing here and amend my prior statements above.I take that back. Got the dreaded code again even after applying the sealant. I now feel confident this is a more fundamental design issue, likely with the size of the intake tube and possibly also the relative location of the evap passages.
I asked AFE to send me the new tube under the TSB and they did send a new tube, but it looks identical to the old one. No new sealing system etc. Rather than deal with their shoddy customer service I am just going to toss it.
I went back to the OE intake with PRL hoses and K&N filter and it feels more torquey down low. This could be related to the intake tube diameter being different (the ECU would be tuned to a specific air speed to mass relationship, which is determined by the diameter).
I DO NOT RECOMMEND THE TAKEDA INTAKE.
