Want to share what I did to my 2025 DE5 in past months, to improve shift feel.

Acura Integra 2025 DE5 Shift Upgrades: Acuity Shifter, Titanium Knob & Rod, Chasing JS Boot Delete IMG_3779

+ Acuity 4-way adjustable shifter
+ Acuity Titanium upper shift rod
+ Chasing JS Titanium shift boot delete (stock boot won't fit at the knob height I wanted)
+ Acuity ESCO-Ti Shift Knob in Burnt Titanium Finish
+ Acuity Shift Boot Collar Upgrade (Burnt Titanium Finish)
+ Acuity SHIFTER CABLE BUSHING

Contrary to a lot folks who might prefer a "short shifter", I personally prefer a "tall" shifter, which makes shifting gears feel more substantial.

With this setup, this shift knob & rod becomes visually the "center piece" in the cabin.

Things I have tried but didn't quite like (thus uninstalled):
  • Acuity POCO-Ti Low Profile Shift Knob in Burnt Titanium Finish
    • makes the shift too short to my liking, thus shifting feels more "heavy"
    • the knob is also on the smaller side
  • Hybrid Racing Heavy Duty Transmission Detent Springs
    • supposed to improve "shift feel" but I found it too heavy, esp the side-by-side shifter movement. I often missed the reverse gear because of it
    • with the super tall shift knob (thus more leverage), I might give it another try
  • Dream Automotive "Teardrop" Shift Knob
    • Love the shape and weight, but because its material (steel), it's too cold to touch in the morning and takes a while to warm up.

I am truly ignorant here I am sure, but I just don't understand how shifting feel can be improved when the shifter rod is so much taller?

It is just personal preference for feel. I run mine high also. I like the shift knob being around the same height as the bottom of the steering wheel instead of having to reach down to the console. With today's modern aftermarket shifters, you can dial the throw in to near perfection .........

Shifter mods are my all time favorite. I currently run my Acuity on the shortest throw with the shift height slightly lower than stock (setting 2 I believe). I countered the increased shift effort with a heavier weighted knob from Dream Automotive and it feels just *right*

It's a personal thing. I used to drive tractors when I was a teenager, which has really long shifting rods

This is my "first" proper manual car and somehow I missed the shift feeling from many years ago. Plus, it's a good right arm exercise!

I had "Dream Automotive "Teardrop" Shift Knob " for a few months - love the shape and weight. Only problem is that because it's steel, it gets so cold on first touch in the morning and takes quite a while to warm up.

The titanium shift knobs, while still cool to touch, is not as cold as steel and warms up real quick (within 5 mins)
