The ACDelco posted above is popular for good reason. A more appropriate weight for the syncros and a good additive package.
I am running Redline MTL and it's a marked improvement over stock in terms of engagement speed. In the summer you can go a weight higher and run MT-85.
Both ACD and...
DWS will be good in mild snow, but I imagine you get the real stuff out in Utah. If you want to plow through deep snow or ice with confidence on a daily basis, you should get dedicated snow tires.
Tires are the greatest factor when it comes to winter driving. I think the real question should be, do you want to expose your DE5 to road salt, or drive a truck/beater instead. Only you can answer that.
I also ordered a custom powdercoated Billetworkz "Hybrid" model shift knob as well the Dream. Neither have come in yet, but I plan to do a comparison when they do.
The Aluminum/Steel Hybrid weighs ~340g while the Dream is around 550g. I'm currently running a 500g Billetworkz steel lightbulb...
Thanks for posting that, Unity Performance. it's nice to see more active suspension options developed for this platform.
I will say there is an advantage to how DSC goes about it (if it's ever released) as they use whatever factory sensors and existing shock absorber wiring in the factory loom...
Adding to the thread for perpetuity.
Changed my factory fill out to Motul 0W-30 at 750 miles. Will do another change at 2k, then will do 3k OCI's moving forward with the benefit of FCPEuro's lifetime replacement program.
I agree, it's silly.
My theory is Honda does it to give their dealers the opportunity to make bank of dealer installed accessories at time of sale. Even items like badges are overly secured and require unnecessary removal of adjacent items to install, unlike other car brands that just use 3M...
If you aren't already aware, you should put this up on the CivicXi forum. Those folks like DE5 exhausts due to the missing front resonator. They have to cut the tips shorter to make it fit but other than that the hanger locations are the same.
I hadn't owned a Japanese car in years before getting my ITS, and one of the first things I noticed coming from BMWs is how dreadfully soft the Honda paint is. If I look at it sideways it'll chip!
