Anyone know of an aftermarket alternative to the green panel clips with a higher force threshold? Or is it possible the green ones lose a lot of their retention ability once removed?

I've spent the last couple days working on improving the cabin acoustics / road noise. I've done the doors so far (kilmat on the inside of the exterior and back of the interior panels, aggfoam over the vapor barrier), and one of my door panels is slightly warped and it's enough to keep popping one of the clips on its own. I've swapped clips around (thinking maybe that one was weak -- visually, it looked fine), but it didn't make a difference. I ended up adding some extra aggfoam to that spot so it doesn't rattle, but I'd prefer a real fix.

At least the doors sound so much more solid and satisfying to close.

Check that door panel for a couple molded prongs that mate into the rectangular slots in the door pull handle mechanism. They can bend and interfere with reinstallation, resulting in what looks like a warped door panel.

The green clips bend too much when used, so I would treat them as one time use.

I inspect each when I pull off a panel and if the area around the bottom of the barb part looks a slightly different green or is bent, the clip goes in the trash.

They're cheap, just find a decent online parts supplier of the oem part and buy a bunch. Don't buy from dreamshop... They are stupidly overpriced there.
Thanks -- will buy a bunch (will be good to have them on hand, anyway).

Still happy with the Rockford Fosgate woofer upgrade? I am doing the hatch next, and Id like to do that while I'm in there if it's worth it.

Yeah, I think those are alright. I actually did those first, to align the panel. It's one green clip, mid-height, and it's close... it will hold initially, but any impact (like closing the door) will just barely pop it loose. Thanks for the suggestion, though. I'll check those prongs when I swap new clips in to be safe.

Yes the Rockford is worth it for a perfect drop-in into the stock box.

I recommend some kilmat on the outside of the box where it echoes as well as inside in certain hollow sounding areas. The pillow foam fill also helps virtually expand volume due to the surface area. Even if you don't swap the driver, the rest of it is worth it.

There's also room for an amp in there and you can easily find an amp the has a high power input and low pass integrated that would bump the Rockford from 50w factory power to 300w and blow the doors off.

Decided to keep the turbo and downpipe elbow blankets and installed them today. Used safety wire instead of the supplied safety springs as it's a much easier install that way. Used a proper safety wire pliers to twist and secure the wires.

So far, I've noticed an increase in low end torque especially from a stop light (since that would have previously introduced some heat soak).

You're adding spacers for winter?

That's a different take, lol. I usually go as inset as I can to keep the rock salt, debris, and gunk off the paint as much as possible πŸ™ƒ.

Agreed, I like those floor tiles. Those are helpful in winter!

Lowered on eibach pro-kit springs and 15mm front/20mm rear spacers. Love the way this turned out and working with @NSXavier was an absolute pleasure. Anyone in the DC area that wants top notch work done, there is no one better that I can recommend.

ride feels really good. Comfort mode feels about the same, sport+ feels a smidge stiffer but it feels really good.
