You don't need to use that much Kilmat. There are diminishing returns, and you can get to the point where you're just adding weight without making an appreciable difference to SPL. It's fine, but the knocking method I put in the thread is there for this reason.
Understood. This is the first time I have ever done anything like this. Never had a car with this much road noise. Something I have been very vocal about in surveys to Acura. So no doubt I have probably gone a little overboard. I'm learning as I go. These forums have been fantastic tho. Every project I have done so far has had a walk thru with pics or a video here somewhere.

Was checking tire pressures. Getting ready for the jailbreak thing tomorrow. See my neighbor

My Australian neighbor: “Mate. It’s 35c! It’s so hot”

Me: “bro my country’s flag is on the moon. I don’t use metric cuz it has yet to gain any clout. wtf is 35c?! You been here since 2021. Use Fahrenheit dammit”

These fucking people man

I just started 3D modeling and printing shit and I’m starting to think things like “I wonder how many millimeters thick my laptop is.” And then a bald eagle cried out in disgust and fell, dead, into my back yard.

Yeah the road noise in this car is crazy bad!!! That being said if you want to keep weight down and probably make it even quieter you can use a lot less CLD and go with something like closed cell foam or a decoupler. I used to use Dynamat on every square inch of my offroad trucks. Now I am using decouplers and really good closed cell foam I have found you can get far better noise suppression with a lot less weight... Hope this helps!

Typically on the fk8 it was billed at 6 hours of labor in my neck of the woods

Rotary shop charged 3 hours, made fun of my pistons, demanded donuts from across the street.

Gentlemen. Gonna start getting my stuff together for the rotor, pad and brake fluid swap

is the hardware tq to yield? If so are there any vendors that piece all the hardware I’m gonna need? On my GTI every damn screw had to go and torquing some of those was just crazy.

going rbf600 (srf is superior, but apparently it’s a pain in the ass to flush?) with girodisc rotors (will use gyeon rim coating on hats) and for pads csg cp pads

Thankfully they're not one time use stretch bolts like most vw stuff. You can tell if it's a one time use bolt because it will typically say "torque + turn degree".
