Picked up a PWR intercooler today on their 250th July 4th = $250.00 sale... Glad I have held out on intercoolers since this sealed the deal!

Not a Fan of the PWR logo but love that it drops in and works really well! Probably figure a way to remove their paint before it's installed! ;)
I’m not a fan of pwr at all and they can suck my dick from the back

great products. No doubt

but their communication is shit. The absolute worse. They never set expectations about the intercooler taking like 2 months to come in. Then they wanted 100$ to not spray the logo on the intercooler. Then they sprayed it anyways and told me they’d refund me or I can wait a few more months for another.

never buying a damn thing from them ever again

Yeah I got a quote for no logo and they said the same thing... Either way I like the straight drop in along with it's performance and weight... I may take the logo off or paint it black. The wait doesn't bother me a bit coming from having a ton of custom fab done on my past off road trucks if it's under 6 months I am good lol...

Wait wouldn’t bother me none either if I was made aware of it to begin with

But yeah. Easy install. Air guides stay in. It’s well made and very light too. Even on stock tune I am always anywhere from ambient to +6f. I’ve seen it light up at a Starbucks drive through. Hit +18f over ambient. But after driving half a block the temp shed quick as hell

Good to hear this! I think I waited 9+ months for a custom Ron Davis radiator granted he has zero off the shelf products but well worth the wait!

Shiiiiit we waited about 4-5 months and missed the whole season for a LS1 swapped rwd converted cobalt ss. Those radiators are worth the wait tho. So well made. When U pull it out of the styrofoam U instantly know U can beat mf with it on Monday and race it on a Tuesday.

They played the same game with me on the logo. I'm thinking this is their schtick. They're probably banking on people just leaving the logo on. Zero chance I was paying those bozos $100 to remove the logo. I stripped it off before installation. Fantastic product from the craftsmanship to the fitment to performance, but their customer service is cheeks.

Good on you for scoring a discount, $250 off is huge!

Might I ask what product you used to strip it off? Thanks

Agree. The core is incredibly efficient, especially given it's physical dimensions. It's not as large as the others on the market.

I shared the below on the other forum:

"I’ve been running the PWR intercooler for about 5 months and have been very happy with it so far. The construction and materials feel high quality, and fitment was straightforward with no modifications needed. Where it stands out most is consistency. The car handles repeated pulls noticeably better than stock. In the logs, I’m seeing a slower IAT rise through a pull and lower starting IATs on subsequent runs, which helps keep ignition timing more stable and prevents the timing collapse you typically see once the stock intercooler heat soaks. Boost control also looks more consistent from pull to pull, without the slight variability that can come with higher charge temps. It’s not a dramatic “seat of the pants” change, but the car is clearly more repeatable and composed under sustained load. The first pull hits just as hard as the 4th or 5th."

I watched the temps closely during this recent "Heat Dome" with temps in excess of 95°F — and as far as I could tell without data collection — the intercooler stood tall. I'll grab a few logs in the next week or so to compare to the logs I captured when I got the car tuned in January when it was materially cooler. I will provide some level of analysis and share with the community.

I'd be curious how it holds up with sustained use for 20 mins. Especially after sitting for an hour or two and then doing 20 mins again. Has anyone actually tracked with these?

There was a type r out with the PRL earlier this year in one of my groups and he did okay first session, but second session he was running +30F ambient on stock tune. Stock it does run aggressively lean, which doesn't help once the turbo gets heat soaked. He also didn't do anything else for cooling.

There are folks on the other forum who have. I know for certain CG13 has; however, I cannot recall others by name.

I will be looking fwd to the data. Thank u

consistent is the best word for the pwr. U do get what U pay for. For sure. You’ll also be treated poorly by the company. But hey. At least it’s a very well made very well performing piece

it’s amazing. Because you’re increasing the volume. Just like all the other intercoolers. Yet this one efficiently sheds heat so dang fast. I’ve seen the prl and others in logs. And they do well. Good even. But the pwr does great. Sometimes it bangs doors with a tube and fin and I don’t know how this is possible.
