The handles theoretically should be snapping into the metal cutout instead of the liner, but I think that's part of the design problem, because the liner adds bulk and prevents the handles from properly snapping in.

Don't even get me started on bmw vs acura quality, lol. Our X7 has more luxury and build quality in the third row than the Integra has anywhere. I know the price disparity is like 45k$, but still... The mdx vs an X5 or X7 is so night and day I can't imagine anyone cross shopping. The seats in the X7 I never want to get out of... The integra feels like a folding chair in comparison 😔😑
The mdx brings affordable and easy maintenance and repairs at least. However if I wanted that + luxury I’d go Lexus. Lexus isn’t as great as the Germans but it’s enough for me

That's exactly it. I don't consider acura and lexus "luxury". I used to 15yrs ago, but after owning the Integra and recent acura/lexus, it's pretty clear how far off we are. I consider them kind of in between. The disparity becomes apparent when you compare basic things like lower control arms... Cast aluminum vs stamped steel and galvanized stretch bolts vs mild steel.

But that's just it... EVERYTHING for the integra is cheap! Steering wheel is like 3-400$ vs 1200$+ in the bmw and audi. When my Alcantara wheel gets grungy enough, I won't try to clean/restore it... I'll just throw it in the trash and buy another one, lol.

I just wish the Japanese cars were more "reliable". My its is back to misfiring at idle now that it's winter again. Not enough sensors/sensitivity to catch it on the ecu, but I can feel it. I'm guessing it's likely plugs/coils so I guess those might become a yearly wear item 😑.

I’d agree with that. I think Acura (in terms of fit and finish) is about at modern VW. Maybe slightly in between VW and Audi? Not a bad place to be I suppose.

that’s crazy. So it’s every winter?!

Not sure I'd say between vw and audi... Maybe slightly below vw, but then again the Mk8 Gen has gone downhill, so not sure if I might rank it higher now. The mk7 gti I had was phenomenal. Not a rattle anywhere. The headlights were trick and would swivel and pivot based on position and steering, cornering lights were awesome, steering wheel was on another level compared to the acura plastic stuff, seats were incredible and comfy (I could go 10 hrs in them vs 2hrs in the acura), and all the plastics were just really top notch. I will forever miss that car... I want another one. Carlos sainz still owns one I believe, if that tells anyone anything...

Its would also misfire in summer slightly at low rpm, but nowhere near as bad. Today with the cold weather it was a very rough idle once it warmed up. You can feel it in the seat and when applying moderate power below 2500 rpm; it just feels "heavier" than when it's 45F+ out. Occasionally it will misfire hard enough to "heartbeat" like the mk7 gti/r would with the needle bumping down momentarily. Happens on the oem tune, Cobb tune, and custom tune. All of these 4 banger, "big turbo" engines are just prone to knock and misfire at low rpm and around peak torque. In almost all of them, plugs are needed every 10k miles to keep things smooth and reliable. I got a Blackstone baseline already, so we'll see what it looks like when I get the next lab results.

I had a mk7.5 autobahn GTI myself. 2020 with dsg. I feel like the Acuras interior is a hair better. Except for the rattles everyone complains about. I’m at 2400 miles and no rattles yet. The rear hatch handle keeps falling out tho LOL

man that’s odd. Maybe a higher quality spark plug vs oem would help some?

@Victorofhavoc are you running an oil catch can?
No catch can. Have not seen a demonstrable need for one yet, since it seems oem pcv does fine up to 1.2G so far.

Next year I will have more front camber and a muuuch grippier Hoosier tire, so I except to see sustained 1.2-1.3G with peak 1.4-1.5G. I suspect then it will get some blowby under hard braking, but I'll have a baffled oil pan then so still shouldn't need a catch can.

I haven't been happy with the shade of red I went with on the rear A mark (Vvivid Ultra Gloss Racing Red vinyl):

Acura Integra What did you do to your Integra Type S today? 🙋🏻‍♂️ 1765152872783-iu

It looks a little too pink to me, and I think it should match the "S" in the Type S emblem. So i went on a search for a more appropriate shade of red and I couldn't find anything that had the excellent surface flatness of the Vvivid vinyl.

So I started to search for red color-change PPF's and I just couldn't find a shade that I liked, or they were the right shade but a "candy" with way too large of metallic flake.

Finally found that i like KPMF's Vengeance Red vinyl, but as with all of the old-school vinyl brands, the orange peel and gloss are absolutely terrible. Then I remembered I could just put clear PPF over the KPMF and it would look a lot better. So that's what I did. I like the shade and gloss a lot, as well as the slight metallic that matches in intensity to the metallic in the Acura PWP paint. Looks OEM+ which is always my goal.

I will probably be doing the front A mark as well.

They're already the ngk iridium I believe. I doubt they can get much better. Ngk ir is top notch stuff.

Are you running stock boost?

I still think there is a case for catch cans on this platform even if you aren't pulling high G's, if you are tuned.
