PRL intake hoses just came in and I had to install them! Already have a K&N panel filter. Don't talk to me about filtration efficiency - I accept the risk (which is negligible, IMHO). Can definitely hear a bit more wooshing under load but without the loud diverter valve flutter you get with true open intakes, which just isn't my thing.

On Saturday I will be installing the PRL rear engine mount and some H&R lowering springs, then on Monday I get Phearable tuned!

I agree you've wasted no time! πŸ˜‚ Did you notice a sound difference from the silicone couplers?

That brake fluid looks like it's time for some fresh stuff, though... Unless it was that color from the bottle? My factory fill was pretty bad and with a few hundred miles I found solid copper deposits. I've also noticed this car just fouls brake fluid very quickly. I've checked all seals and found zero issues, so I suspect either the lines or abs are doing it.

Unless you're intentionally running blue and amber to track rotation, almost all brake fluid should look like the pee of a well hydrated person.

Hehe.

Oh, that fluid is fresh RBF600 since I just installed the new slave. It's a bit more coppery than OEM.

I normally use Castrol SRF but didn't want to waste the money just for a clutch bleed. Next spring I'll flush the whole system with SRF, in preparation for track fun!

I actually prefer 600 to srf. I find it to be resistant enough to boiling on track and it's far less sensitive to humidity/water over time than srf and 660 both.

My Rbf600 looks much clearer than that with about 1k mi on it right now. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

Picture was taken near dusk. That's probably it, eagle eye. :p
I'm just hyper vigilant because of how BAD my oem stuff was. Having sediment and brown fluid from factory I believe to be a safety concern. Just imagine if you get sediment into your abs pump in an emergency brake scenario πŸ˜”.

Oem with not many miles on it (dealer missed it multiple times) :

So what was the culprit? Something had to have been degrading in your system.
I have yet to find a true "culprit". I've checked everything I could think of. I asked the dealer and they quickly came back with "it's normal". I'm sorry, but flushing fluid every 600-1k miles and it turning brown repeatedly for the first 6k miles is NOT normal.

That said, I've found so many other build related issues that I have virtually no confidence it wasn't something dumb like acura built the car part of the way and left it sitting there for months as an open loop where, by driving it, the sediment made its way into the abs and crevices in the calipers.

Someone on this forumv(don't recall who) countered that theory saying the cars are built and shipped within 3 months. My argument to that are the date stamps I've found on my car ranging from early 2023 to May 2024, the volume of dust under the spoiler, and the dozens of paint defects that were deep etching you'd get from a car sitting with no movement for months on end. One area in particular measured at over 5.6 mil (overly thick paint), and it took me polishing out 0.2mil to get the etching out. That's not a bird dropping that happens for a few weeks or months on a dealer lot. That's much more extensive etching.

Since around the 7k mark it doesn't seem to foul nearly as fast. I also replaced a rear caliper (because of me being dumb, not the car) at around 8800 miles and when I flushed then it had made it over 1500 miles without significant discoloration. I'm at just over 10k now, when I took the photo above, and on that same fluid. It's still a little darker than it should be with those miles, but certainly much better than it was early on.

Finally put some Acura stickers on my Regamasters. Its the small touches! I still haven't installed spacers yet because the first spacers that I got interfered with the hub centric rings but hopefully the new ones that I ordered will fit.
