I’m John. Been a Toyota (mainly Corolla) guy for most my life. My first car in 1993 was an ‘82 Corolla, rusted out (indiana winters) with manual 5MT. At 51 y/o with kids slowly becoming adults, and approaching midlife crisis stages, finally decided to get something slightly less practical than a Corolla and slightly more practical than a Supra. My wife also played a small role in that decision…. Anyway, I love my very first Acura! Such a pleasure to drive, and so excited to be able to shift my own gears again. Bought mine used (‘25) but with some aftermarket aesthetics (wheels, blacked out logo, silly darth vader fusebox cover under the hood, titanium oem shift knob - that’s all I’m aware of at this point). I’ve already swapped out the shift knob with a skunk2 racing one, but not sure about that. I’ve got a Mugen ball coming.. I really appreciate this forum so far and looking forward to learning a lot more about my ITS!

Your alcantara center console is aftermarket, so win there.

Wheels are OEM though but the copper color was an option and looks fantastic, but the center caps look powdercoated and is also a nice touch. Also can't fully tell from the pictures but to me they look like there may be spacers installed. Whoever owned it before you had some pretty good taste and clearly loved the car.

Car looks great, enjoy!

Great to know about the center console and wheels, thank you! I just started to wonder if those copper wheels were an option, since I've seen them on a few others in the forums. The steering wheel is also alcantara. Is that stock? After looking further, I'm assuming not stock.

It's not shown in your pictures but there was an OEM optional alcantara steering wheel. Just in case you weren't aware, all Type S's come from the factory with the exact same equipment, just different colorways for the interior and exterior. Anything after that is a dealer installed option. The wheels, the steering wheel, the shift knob, the emblems, etc. all installed at the dealer but they are still OEM from Honda/Acura. The dark ass southern tint is surely aftermarket but a nice bonus if you didn't have to pay for it yourself ;). The dealer almost surely would have stripped it off if were sold used here as I'm pretty sure that windshield at least is not legal in this state.

That said there are also a couple actually aftermarket steering wheels so without pictures there's no way to tell, but chances are it's the OEM one. If it looks "normal" and round it's OEM; if it's wild, flat-bottomed and looks like something straight out of Gran Turismo, it's aftermarket.

Also FWIW they're relatively cheap at $300 (vs Porsche alcantara wheel at $1200), so how some people claim they don't like alcantara because it seems to get ruined after a few years, at $300 it becomes more of a replaceable wear item for those folks who feel that way. For others who've actually owned alcantara and taken care of it properly, they already have nothing to worry about because you literally clean it with soap and water every 6 months or so and it will always look like new.

I digress.

When I had my ITS I did the blacked out badge but removed the black vinyl on the emblem. Made it pop and was super easy to do. Also had the Artwork Bodyshop V2 spoiler to replace the small stock one in the back.
