I purchased the Apex VS-5RS w/ +45 offset wheel. I want to see if anyone having the same spec of wheel and what size tire should be a good fit. I live in the east coast and would like to use all season as well. Anyone running 275/35/19. Thank you.

I have 19x9.5 +51 offset and run 275/30-19 all seasons (dws06+). I think there are a few people running the 35 series without an issue, but I drive in MA/RI and find my setup comfortable. The 275/30 gets you a hair more width and sidewall versus stock, and in my case it was less expensive than the 265/30.

I am looking into this tires as well. how is the tire holding up during winter time. I am alittle concern w/ the road condition in the NY city area. do you have a side image of the wheel. Thank you again.

The tires are great. I didn’t have to drive in anything too messy this past winter, but they handle well and feel comfortable down as cold as we had… maybe 10-20 degrees? Most of the roads I drive are not too awful, so I don’t have to deal with a lot of surprise potholes or anything like that. I thought about going 18’s to pick up that sidewall, but wanted to be able to swap tires across my stock wheels. So far I’m happy I went that route.

Pic is from when the tires were first mounted and before I cleaned them up.

I've driven on the Conti DWS06+ for two winter seasons now on this car, and one winter on the same tires on an S4. They're a great all season tire, on par with any other from all measurable metrics e.g., noise, grip, comfort, etc. (I've had Michelin A/S4 on several cars as well, also a good choice but they don't make them in OEM sizes).

I too haven't used them in any extreme conditions, but generally speaking the all-seasons are good from a temperature perspective to have grip in very cold conditions whereas summers would turn into hockey pucks, but it isn't necessarily fair to expect them to get you to work and back in blizzard conditions.

Personally though, this car is best experienced with a good set of summers when it's above 50 degrees or so. Stick with the OEM PS4S if that's the route you go, but most people report the Conti ExtremeContact 02 is a good choice if you want to save a few bucks but just note that the PS4S that comes on the car though is specifically engineered for FWD performance (there are two types of PS4S out there so you do have to pay attention...), so it is almost universally the better choice unless you bump up to a 200TW.

If you just have to go with all seasons year-round though, you could do a lot worse than the DWS06. Size is up to you, many users report using all the sizes listed in this thread with no significant issues. You will have no issues at all using OEM tires on your wheels; they're the same size as OEM aside from offset. Going up to 275/30 won't be an issue either, but personally I will steer clear of 275/35 unless I drop down to 18s- but that's just me.

It's funny, of all the forums I've been on (GT350, E46, E90, S2000, etc) the widely accepted belief was to stay within 1%, maybe 2% max of overall aspect height which 275/30's certainly do. I'll prob go that route when I need tires.

It seems nearly everyone here insists that you should run 275/35 which is 5-6% taller height. It's a big difference in both height and overall circumference too. Makes no sense. I'm not even sure it's a better look if that's the argument.

I think most people push 275/35 if you're going with an 18" rim.

If 19" then 265/30 or 275/30 is money.

I will admit though, I will be trying 275/35 on my 19's next time. Trying to wear out the current tires at the track this year.

I just got the same wheels… and I’m just using the pilots that came with the car. Using them as a summer set. I also have the continental extreme contacts, on the stock wheels for winter. I live in NY, and they are a great tire. A little softer feeling, and turning isn’t as tight as the Michelins but they are great. I think the continental feel better on the stock rims, but the Michelins feel amazing on the apex, way better than how it felt on the stock rims.

This might be a good ideas since I still have the OEM wheels and can use it as a winter set. Thanks for the feedback.
