I know that people have talked to me at length about Artwork's spoiler but I'm curious to know what other spoilers you might have gone with. I know that it fits with the factory holes which would make the install remarkably easy but I'm curious to know what builds people have gone with.

I've seen a load of spoilers/wings on Ebay, some that require drilling and other that are tape-on. (which I kind of don't really trust at certain speeds, lol. )

Photos would greatly be appreciated.

Why not oem carbon? Yes it involves drilling, but it comes with a template and it's really quite easy to do.

It also blocks the rear view "just enough".

My experience is they don't finish the OEM carbon very well. Both my OEM carbon spoiler and the mirror covers are flaking in random areas. Seems to be a common issue with them. Other than that, I love the look of it. I gotta go up to the dealer sooner than later to see if they can change it out for me under warranty.

They should be able to.

I haven't had any issues with mine, but it's only been a year and I ceramic coated them out of the gate.

How long have you had yours?

It has been on the car since it was bought at the dealership (it's a 2023). The weird thing is I'd expect maybe edge wear or something but it just seems to be in random spots all over. Once I get them swapped might have to go the ceramic coat path as well.

Fair enough.

I've seen some people post photos of uv degradation, and often that's a result of a poor resin or poor pre-preg resin infusion. Definitely a "defect" and not something that should happen when the part is done well.

I hope you find something that works out well for you! ?

That was also something I was concerned about because I've heard some spoilers are prone to being eroded over time too.

I'd go with carbon fiber but I feel like carbon fiber likes to be paired with other carbon fiber bits.
I know it's used to reduce weight ordinarily but I wonder how much of it is warranted before people accuse me of being a ricer, lol.

Oh the factory carbon is just for appearances. It's extraordinarily heavy because it's not hollow. The benefit is that it is made of a material that will absorb some vibrations which will help deaden some vibration and noise from the hatch area. Similarly to the door guards.

If we're talking weight savings... Even though this car is "light" by hummer EV standards, it's still a VERY heavy car for performance standards. I'd be more inclined to drop a grand on a lithium battery or gut parts of the front end. On racecars we chop out headlights, and race tape or rivet on some blanks to shave 10-20# off the nose for huge benefits!

This is why modifying cars for straight line performance is so much easier than actual track performance. Imagine adding 20# of intercooler way up front in front of the axle after just chopping 20# in headlights. Is it even worth it for lap times?... Often not.

It's only RICE if it's cosmetic ?. The rear carbon wing is a replacement and functional since it's larger so not rice, but the mirror caps just add weight, wind resistance, and serve no purpose. To each their own though... I like the mirror caps matching the spoiler, but I'm annoyed no legitimately functional louvre exists to replace the factory one.

Is there a reason you’re against the Artwork version? It’s one of the more expensive, but it checks all the boxes (fit and quality are great, and uses factory holes). I’d seen too many “other” manufacturers that have fitment or quality control issues and I didn’t feel like going back and forth with anyone, I wanted it to be right the first time.

Wait, did you get one to replace the Type S spoiler? This is the v1, right? I've always wanted to look at a profile view of this one to see if it was the right look because I do see they offer one for the V2. It looks great from behind.
Is their a difference between the Type S spoiler and Artwork besides the carbon fiber patterning?

I really just wanted to look at the options and hopefully see if there's something new that has arrived.
I've seen people put anything from the FL5 wings to outrageously large wings on these things and I've just been curious is all.

best profile view I have of it. Yes, it’s the V1. I wanted an OEM+ look, and I knew if I went CF that it would have opened a very expensive pandora’s box of CF for my exterior. No shade to those that get the V2, but I’m not a fan of how aggressive it is.

I have the APR GT250 wing, I can't say enough good stuff about them. (other than the wing install manual is a bit goofy)
Do be warned tho. They are functional wings, so you do want a bit more front down force to balance things out. Or you will feel the down force in the rear.

Fixed that for you ?.

The gt250 wing is VERY efficient. It generates over 150lbs at 80mph and over 350lbs at 120 mph. It respectively generates 30 and 65lbs of drag as well. You can add a gurney flap and make it even more efficient with minimal drag addition.

To balance out the front you need a reasonable splitter back to the axle, 4" extension, air dam, a fence, and preferably diffusers that dump into the wheel wells at about 8" wide. This would generate roughly 400lbs at 120mph and bring the grip back forward to reduce understeer.

Generally speaking you want front end aero first when converting a road car to a track car, but it's more complicated and expensive to do so people throw on wings and then just rivet on a massive air dam that nearly touches the ground. They then "fix" the resulting understeer with spring, bar, tire, and/or dampening.

That is such a nice side-view, shoot. I might as well get one now that I know they're discounted.
Thank you for the image!
