PLM Strut tower brace installed/uninstalled

Hello all,

If you're planning on ordering the "PLM 2023+ red tower brace" part #PLM-STB-FC-RED-KIT-A I would say hold off for a bit. Installed mine today and looked great, BUT the bar itself will not clear the Type S valve cover plate. The Aspec integra I believe doesn't have a valve cover plate like ours. Contacting them today to get a workout/resolve. I'd imagine if the plate can be removed, then this would work out, however I'd rather not have to do this.

Anyone have any recs on another brand strut tower brace?

My 27won just arrived. Putting it on this weekend and will report back. After seeing yours, I’m afraid it’s going to have same clearance issues. And I, like you, will not be removing the cover plate. It’s way to sexy

@Integra23 has the 27won and only had to partially fold back part of the battery blanket for clearance. No issues at the valve cover.

Just an update if anyone was wondering. The bar is still sitting in my garage. After contacting PLM about their bar not fitting, the best they could do was send me an RMA# and stating that there would be a 20% restocking fee. I don't think I was in the wrong by any means even asking about fitment BEFORE ordering the strut bar. They now have it in their description that the engine cover must be removed for proper installation lol.

Regardless, my options are to either remove the engine cover, order the CTR engine cover, or post up on the fk/fl8 classified forums. Lame. Will post an update in the near future with my next move.

Bad business practices. It’ll hit them in the pocket if they keep it up. Have you been looking at any other options for a replacement?

If/once I end up getting rid of the PLM bar I'll most likely get the 27won strut bar ?

Agree 100%. 27won strut bar looks great and I just installed it. Of course the issue is the battery cable on the way. Another plus is the ability to install their brake brace that attaches directly to their strut bar.

Solid choice. I really want to use the 10th gen DC Sports bar but not 100% sure on fitment. Hoping they drop an 11th gen/integra one soon

These newer bodies are more solid than the older gens. I would imagine these bars are for looks with some (marginal) stiffening benefits to the chassis.

With that being said, if I could go back to before ordering it I wouldn't have. Lol

Yeah. The strut towers are connected to the firewall.
