thanks. what was the incentive for using the MDX mirror over the accord mirror? i was following that long-winded thread about this specific topic that was posted when the cars were new, and i remember some people going with the MDX mirror over the accord one. something to do with the base fitting better or something?

I have no clue. The Accord mirror was the exact one I installed on my FL5 and it looked, fit, and worked perfectly so I just ordered the same one. A quick search on the MDX mirror looks exactly the same too.

I know you can probably buy them aftermarket but my Tacoma came from the factory an electronic rearview mirror. Gives you a super nice wide completely unobstructed view; and bunch of little quality of life touches like when you press homelink, it tells you if the door is going up or down, if there is an error where the door didn't shut - it will let you know.

i went back to the old thread and dug through it; apparently they are basically identical but for some reason the MDX mirrors are significantly cheaper than the Accord ones

Ah! That is good to know! I would have ordered the MDX mirror if that was the case. I didn't find the Accord mirror terribly expensive ~ $160, but cheaper is definitely better.

Got my oil changed today @ 6K miles ~ 40% remainder. Dealer was nice, and used Acura's complimentary maintenance so it was free.

Since it was a beautiful day I took a nice long backroad drive.

My dealer told me I had to wait until my maintenance minder says 10% or less to use my free oil change. Never got an oil change under warranty.

That’s interesting. A huge chunk of folks have said similar things. My dealership doesn’t really seem to care at all

I still won’t do an oil change there but it’s nice to know they’re fair

a bunch of the service writers do have mdx type s’s, integra type s’s and tlx type s’s. Maybe it’s that enthusiast style mind set?

I went in fully expecting to pay, and the service writer was originally going to give me a discount on the oil chance, but then said; "i'll just have it covered by Acura!"

It was my first time ever at that dealership. I haven't owned an Acura in many many years, so maybe he wanted to build a good relationship? or maybe he had a great cup of coffee right before I walked in?

I ended up at Pleasanton Acura.

Haha why did you think I stopped to take a pic! Actually 'bliss' the photo in WinXP background was taken about 60 miles from where I live. I've driven by it.

The hills are absolutely beautiful right now here!
