Preface: This is the first car I bought on my own with insurance I bought on my own.
The damage isn't severe (thankfully because I was under a tree.) but there is some peppering along the hood and one of the uncovered sides.
There was a guy advertising his hail repair shop known as "HailDentPro" who came by our house advertising his service as "No cost extra cost," but I definitely felt there may be a catch because how else would they make money? Guy said he would help me find a rental car through my insurance as the process could take 2-4 weeks.
(Which checks out time-wise when I recently had my mother's accord repaired for a hit and run. )
I heard insurance can also do appraisals, but I'm genuinely curious to know what the best course of action would be? I'm very new to these types of damages and what insurance might claim or if my premium will go up.
