Nardy Honda on Long Island wanted $15k over MSRP for a CTR. I just shook my head and laughed on the way out.

What I think I'm noticing is that dealers vary the terms of what they demand/are willing to accept on a case by case basis. That's exactly what happened with my local dealer, as I've heard from multiple sources that they can't seem to get an MSRP deal at the same dealer I got one at, and the dealer even at the time implied they would continue to watch the market. There seem to be many variables that factor into this- in my case I had already established a relationship with the salesperson an the local manager of that store by stopping in several times, was a local market customer and have already taken the car back to service for paid and warranty work, and the way they told it they got this particular car as a "surprise allocation" and I just lucked out. If it happened at this dealer I'm sure stuff like this happens all over the place...

Some dealers stand by their "MSRP only" creed but they seem to be very few and far between, and have substantial wait lists as a result...

I think though as inventory continues to roll in that those diligent enough will find the deals they're looking for. Those who want a car immediately will continue to prolong this "ADM era" that we're in. It may continue like this in perpetuity until we're well into the next "evolution" or whatever you want to call it of "alternative fuel" vehicles. I think there's a strong undercurrent of expectation that these vehicles are the last of their kind and that's driving the market too.

I got mine for MSRP (too much), but I get it...Via the internet with 100s of emails...Bay Shore Acura in NY 180+ miles from me...zero relationship with the dealership... They are not loosing money at MSRP or even a few thousand below that...No added on accessories..My story others outcome may vary...Happy Hunting...whats next E-Ray in about 4 years...

I just picked up my TEP ITS yesterday from Davis Acura in PA. Paid MSRP + 2.5K no addons/junk fees, etc. I wanted a straight MSRP deal especially with how many of these seem to be sitting around.

Unfortunately my 2018 CTR was totaled last week when a lady ran a red at 45 mph and hit my front fender so I didn't have the luxury of waiting and frankly was exhausted fighting the insurance company that I just didn't have the fight for the car too. 2.5 over felt fair considering how hard of a time I was having finding a replacement 2023 CTR for a fair price which led me to the ITS.

A lot of dealers on here should be updated (esp. the PA/MD/VA ones) They are only MSRP for local buyers or buyers of the original shipment of ITS.

MD - Acura of Elicott, great mgr to talk to, but not selling MSRP to anyone but local and maybe not even then.
PA - Baierl Acura in Wexford - only to local
Bobby Rahal - same only to local
Spitzer - only to local.

VA - Radley no MSRP offer.

Yeah the sales mgr said that since I was within 75 miles he's drop the price to 2.5k.

Only to locals is a crock of shit..jmho....
Well, it is an it isn't. The issue which has arisen in the past is that some non-local bought a vehicle at MSRP with no intent to keep it and the flipped it for even more money. Granted, even a local could do that, but it's likely an attempt to mitigate that potential while ensuring desirable vehicles are available locally at MSRP where they're more likely to gain a longer term customer.

@Godofelru In the case of Bobby Rahal, they had a list ~20 deep for the ITS the last I checked, so plenty of local interest.
