Not 100% sure about that.
I have been following GR Corolla roll out and Toyota has been adding about $1.5K in Port installed accessories that buyers have to accept in the purchase. Things like upgraded shifter, roof rake, floor mats, or trunk organized.

Feels like the initial buyers are going to get fleeced one way or another. Would be advised to give it 2-3 months for things to settle down and production to ramp up.
There's a big gap between $1,500 (alleged Toyota mandatory accessories) and $8,000 (Acura of Auburn's alleged Acura-required accessories)--say MSRP is $50,000 (hopefully that's high, but trying to be realistic), $8,000 in accessories would raise the price of the car 16%... that's huge. That's CTR-level fleecing.

I suspect their $8,000 markup is the approximate total of all of the top-selling dealer accessories (emblems, carbon fiber pieces, illuminated pieces, and mats) plus junk dealership upgrades (nitrogen, ceramic coating, tint, etc.). Acura isn't installing these for you, and they don't care if you get them or not.

You should send them a screenshot or link to this thread and tell them we are all willing to travel to avoid dickheads. These dealers are such a joke, and it’s insulting. I hope they had a chance to hear you laugh at them.

Shame they couldn't hear the laughs, I always message dealers via email or text, just for the paper trail

Its only funny assuming nobody pays it and that car sits on their lot for months and months and months.
If someone pays that price, then the dealer is laughing all the way to the bank.

Sterling McCall seems not to want my business as they won't respond to me. Did you have an email address of a direct person? I don't trust when salesmen try to do call-only.
I emailed them yesterday and now they are adding $2495 in dealer add ons for the Type S. All other regular cars are $1495.
This is the salesman email.

I was going to say! Gillman is the worst! They wanted 20kADM for their FL5’s. I know damn well they will do it on the ITS.

Classic seems to have been on the shitlist already, but this is what they told me:

Classic Southeast Texas sells all of their new Acura, Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, and Kia vehicles at MSRP+Addendum+TT&L. The Dealer Addendum is priced at ($3,994.00) and includes Quantum Ceramic Coating (w/5 yr warranty), Window Tint, Splash Guards, Nitrogen Filled Tires & Wheel Locks.

$500 deposit + $4k ADM 💩

They did say they're getting 2 cars and the second will have every accessory:

Those Acura Integra Type S add-ons ($5,823.00) are:
  • 19" bronze wheels
  • TPMS sensors
  • Carbon fiber door mirror covers
  • Type S door sill trim
  • Illuminated front Acura emblem
  • Gloss black rear Acura emblem
  • Type S floor mats
  • Alternate shift knob
  • Alcantara steering wheel
  • Carbon fiber spoiler
  • Type S valve stem caps
  • Wheel locks

That's already too funny to begin with but imagine shopping for a Rio or a Spark and getting all those extra stuff added on to the price tag :D
