Ill try not to get long winded here but we entered our brand new DE5 into a local SCCA event and MAN did this thing perform!!
I ran B Street and my girl ran B Street L. She got first place! Out of one
. But she LOVED it. It was her first time. Kinda. Sheās done it for a few laps in a fit like 10 years ago. She got after it and got competitive as the day went on. It was so fun to see her take to it.
I took third place but I was close enough to the top two that Iām BEYOND inspired about what I can do in this car with some seat time. It does have a little lag out of the turns. Canāt run in 1st or it would have no traction and in 2nd I have more than Iād like. TSP downpipe is in order. 6-10 weeks. It will also be lowered and have an intake and front pipe before our next event. Iām debating a sway barā¦ā¦ The car could use a little help rotating but I also need to learn how to make it rotate. Iām used to running courses a BIG power 2016 TT Camaro SS so this is very different than Iām used to.
The Michelins liked 34.5 in the rear and 40.5 in the front. Any less and the fronts would rolled over. I should have bumped the rear up to see if it helped rotate the rear. It was perfect weather. 65-70 and overcast.
Brakes werenāt an issue. Just lots of brake dust. Car stays pretty flat. Weāre both HOOKED!!
More to come. Iāll post after the mods. Next event is 8-15 I think as weāre out of town for the next one.
