Driver Side BSM keeps indicating something is in Blind Spot

Hi there, basically as the title suggests, ive been having an issue with the Driver side blind spot sensor giving me false Blind spot signals.
Several times whenever i change lanes it yells at me that someone is in my blind spot, even though it’s just me and the person in front of me on the road.
Scares the hell out of me, especially since i still check my blind spot manually and it keeps making me think im blind.
Just trying to see if anyone else is having that issue, will have the dealer check it out but i doubt they’ll do anything since it’s intermittent.

Had this issue once in another car. Sensor looked clean but I gave it a wipe anyways cuz that’s the advice I got. Never did it again. Give that a check if you haven’t yet?

Don’t you have to take the bumper off for that?? Just for clarification, im not talking about the backup sensors. Im talking about the blind spot sensors behind the rear bumper.

I dunno where our blind spot sensors are located. Are ours not exposed? If they aren’t then they’re not dirty then. Sorry about that

The sensors are the 4 circles on the back bumper. I'm pretty sure those are used both for backing up and blind spot monitoring. The cross traffic alert when you're backing up likely uses those sensors as well, in tandem with the backup camera.

The front has 4 more circles in the front bumper, and a camera above the rearview mirror. Pretty simple setup really.

OP, if you're getting intermittent false alerts, you're right it's going to be tough to diagnose, but either way it'll require looking at real-time data from a bidirectional scan tool with ADAS capability.

Fuck it. Check if they’re dirty anyways? Won’t hurt any? The GTI uses a combination of the rear proximity sensors and something else (from what I’ve heard)

hopefully it’s a dead simple super cheap fix bro. Honestly it sounds like something isn’t aligned right but hopefully I’m wrong

Yeah, the braking in my '26 when cruise is on can be a bit ridiculous. Especially when the car it picks up ahead of me isn't even in my lane. You'd think since it can read the lane lines it would know the difference.
