I was reading Motor Trend's 10/23/25 review of the 2025 Acura Integra Type S as a road trip car and in the review it mentions a dashboard buzz when the engine hits 4,000 RPM. I've had the same issue in my 2026 ITS. Given the MT article this is clearly a known issue. Has anyone found what causes the buzzing and how to stop it or mitigate it other than turning the music up?

I've had two horrific rattles that sounded as if they were coming from the dash.

One was the gauge cluster cover, and the other was from this piece of HVAC ducting:
I had a rattle I thought was coming from there at a similar RPM... it was actually from one of the AC duct pieces in the center console (rattle sound presumeably made its way through the AC ducting and presented as if it was coming from the passenger side dash). Item #2:

It is (rather poorly) moulded from some of the shittiest plastic imaginable. It's very light-weight, very resonant, and it sits very loosely in place (inserts at both ends).

Don't ask me how I narrowed it down (had to find someone else to drove), but I was able to confirm it by removing the piano black console top and sneaking my hand in there to stop the rattle.

Best of luck if you do try to hunt them down... awful experience 🤣

I've had several major rattles/buzzes from the dash area. One was the civic TSB for the screen. One the dealer solved by replacing the screen back cover. Another was the sunglass holder which I fixed by overtightening the screws and adding foam to it. One was the obd2 port rattling around. Another the driver side footwell light was slightly loose. Last one I was able to fix was something in the glovebox...no idea what, it just stopped after I butyl treated the plastic bits there and reassembled (and pulled the anc as a separate thing).

One that I haven't had but I helped someone in a civic find was the shift collar. Just enough movement to squeal/rattle at a high pitch at certain rpm.

All of these can show up at the two engine rough spots (3500-4k rpm and 6-6.5k). It's not a smooth engine, and the way road noise enters doesn't help. A lot of my noises were solved by butyl and foam when doing silencing. Some by german-style cable tape.

I had a buzzing noise coming from the front passenger door. I noticed it between 3,000 and 4,000 RPM with no music playing. If I pressed on either side of the interior door handle, the noise would stop. I removed the door panel and tightened any screws I found on the door and the inner cover. I have not heard the noise since, although it has not been very long since I did the work.
