Acuity prototype intake

I'm interested to see how this intake performs with the intake on the passenger side. I always wondered why Honda put the cool side of the turbo on the passenger side as well.

Having the hot side of the turbo on the other side (American passenger side) would’ve made routing the dp and exhaust under the motor a pain in the ass maybe? I’m just guessing

I think this intake will probably provide the coldest temps possible (at the maf) however does that really matter? The intercooler should be able to scrub temp increases, even from an open element hot air intake.

if tracking. Sure. Stress the intercooler without adding an extra temp load from the intake. I guess. If on stock turbo, on a premium fuel ots tune but with an upgraded intercooler. Even if tracking, I can’t see the advantage tbh

I’m not even gonna get into the weeds when it comes to the cats that foil wrap their intake piping. Cuz frankly that shit not only works but works very well.

not saying this intake is worthless. Just kinda niche. Good to have options tho. The child in me is pleased with the louder wooshy sounds

It's all about delta, though. 5F higher is 5F higher. An intercooler can only scrub so much, and a bigger intercooler than factory starts to have other tradeoffs (weight, lag, aero, radiator blocking).

I've seen huge iat reductions from the gold foil and wrapping the turbo and that's all due to keeping heat out of the intake tract when moving on track. Street use its even more noticeable because there are more chances for stagnant air flow.

I would imagine this intake would also help a ton. I'd still foil its runner and wrap the turbo, but I suspect it would be worth at least 5F on its own.

I still don't understand why Honda didn't just rotate the turbo from factory. It's just silly packaging as is.

It’s like that with the WRX fa20 top mounted intercooler but I’ve seen the 27won intake logs. Looked identical to the stock intake (maybe plus or minus 2 or 3f). Personally I wouldn’t even be worried

the turbo and how it’s placed. I’m sure there’s a reason for it. More than likely set that way for some kind of convenience?
