I don't think I've had this intake for 10k miles, barely over a year. I was just starting to think about it, and was actually thinking of buying another filter to have on standby. They're "only" $90.

I'll probably see if I can just buy a dry filter now. At this moment I only see the "cotton" filter for sale individually on their site but I'll probably email them when I feel like actually ordering one. Probably towards the fall.

That settles it. Did they list a price? I guess to cover their R&D costs I'd accept a modest increase but if it's $150 I'll pass.

Also FWIW, not sure I made this part clear or not- I definitely felt a power increase with the intake/inlet tube post-install. It's been proven multiple times on forums and YouTube dynos. It's not life changing but it's noticeable.

In the email. The testing that was done was with the paper filter. Allegedly. But was also told the paper filter is rowdy and wooshes very very well.

I don't have any real testing / specs / data, but going off a visual inspection only, I've seen (and was expecting) much worse.

I haven't installed it yet -- planning to do it next weekend (gonna do a transmission fluid change while I have the airbox out and an oil change since that means I'll have the car up / undertray off, etc.). I'll let you know.

It sounds great. I'm sure it's not as loud as an open filter intake, but it's much louder than stock. You can hear the turbo start to build boost and blow off with the windows up, but it isn't intrusive. With the windows down, it's loud.

Fitment was pretty good, and the install wasn't bad. I had heard some people struggled with routing the wires for the MAF sensor, but I just went underneath the airbox and up the side, and it fits perfectly (left the OEM hard plastic harness clip on). I thought the inlet would be a pita, but it was pretty easy. The hardest part was figuring out how to get the cone segment in (attach it to the airbox first, with it rotated so it points downward, drop the airbox in, loosen the clamp, and rotate it), but once you figure it out, it's not bad.

in the future. Do you think swapping the air filter will be any and straight fwd? Or would the whole ass box have to be loosened up and removed?

You might be able to rotate the cone enough to take it out. I would just pull the box, though. It's the easiest part (one bolt in front, one in back).
