Out of pure principle, I will not pay over MSRP, for any new vehicle. I am willing to pay 'market price' for pre-owned (and have for Porsche and others). My quest for a CTR at MSRP will be negotiated from Dealer Principle to Dealer Principle. So, we'll see. I'm well aware that they can...
This is my issue. Seeing the CTR vs ITS parked side-by-side, I actually prefer the moderate appearance of the CTR (even with the stupid wing). There are positives and negatives to both vehicles. Each has their own compromises. However, if I can get a CTR for MSRP, I’m finding more value...
My experience/luck with DSG equipped VW and Audi’s hasn’t been stellar. They all had mechtronic issues and spent extended periods in the shop while I drove loaners. Because of this, I cannot purchase another, which is a shame because the RS3 is pretty awesome.

Historically, yes.
But, for the modern examples, I would define them as 'enthusiasts' cars more than 'drivers' cars.
I've owned a 2002 GTI 337, 2004 R32, and 2008 R32 for reference.
The GTI 337 was my favorite of the bunch....though, I loved the sound of the R32's.

The VIN will be assigned before the vehicle shows on their website. It only gets auto populated to there online inventory once the vehicle has been built and the dealership has been invoiced.

It wouldn't surprise me if there is only $2K markup from Invoice to MSRP on the ITS. I've always been surprised with how little margin their is in new car sales in general. Typical margins for new car sales are 3-5%. Heck, on a new Chevrolet Bolt EUV, the dealer invoice and MSRP are the same...
Can you PM me the details on your experience?
The only additional item that was listed on my quote was $681 for the Carter Protection Package (floor mats, trunk tray & wheel locks). I'm opposed to any mandatory packages and I will discuss with them further before purchase.
Mike
I'll only pay for accessories of my choosing....and I won't buy any of the factory accessories aside from the heated steering wheel, titanium shift know and floor mats.

My dealer called and offered me a Gray/Red ITS at MSRP this morning. I declined. I’m gonna need Black interior, but I was thankful they gave me the opportunity.

The dealership online inventory is controlled by the manufacturer. Once a VIN is assigned, a vehicle is built and then invoiced to the dealer, that vehicle is automatically posted on the dealer website. The vehicle is removed from the dealer’s website only after a vehicle is sold. There are...
