I think all these turbos CAN hit 500whp, it's more where they are most efficient and where they will be placing the power under the curve. More importantly is what kind of fuel or meth do they need to run to hit those numbers. I was laughing at Hondata showing dyno charts on Q16.
So is there any consensus on which option has more overall flow? I like not having to drop my bumper again going HPS, but willing to do it if the PRL has better specs. HPS doesn't have the black in stock anyway, so will have to wait a bit on either option.
Also, does either have a bung for meth...
Might want to asterisk the power figures as they don't seem to be consistent between manufacturers. Like the PRL is on a heavily modified car, Eventuri is stock, but calculated at the crank, etc...
I think Dream has dyno plots for the Pipercross and Ramair also. Sadly no Gruppe M or PRL as...
I was surprised to see Unity/Derek was able to hit 429whp with the Kuro on 93 and stock fuel system. Those are crazy numbers given how fuel limited the platform is. I think it's down to Kuro or MHI for me, being in CA being able to retain OEM heatshields and reflash to stock without swapping...
Several sources have said it's set for a Spring release, on the CIVICXI forums Two Step said next month. You know how it is with PRL, grain of salt.
On the topic of turbos, what is the preferred turbo these days for more streetable numbers? I know everyone loves the R660, but I was wondering...
Google VW broken rear camera and you will know that's the truth :) That said, this is really one of the few complaints against the car I agree with, it's awful.
The noise you want is from diverting to open atmosphere, so the quick answer is no. You CAN run a vent to atmosphere BOV, but it's not advised as it will lead to rich conditions as per above. There are a few hybrid options also (does both), same issues of running rich, but slightly less. You can...
I felt the same way when people were complaining how expensive Acura accessories are, it's a tiny fraction of the German options, haha. I am leaning towards Eventuri since you can pair it with their inlet tube and am not partial to the red on the Gruppe M. Would be nice if PRL actually gets...
But that's part of the performance boost. I trained my mice to add a little lift to the valves for more top end under VTEC. Cheaper than cams. Just don't get on it to much or your MPG (Miles per Gruyere) goes to crap.
Jokes aside, I was amazed what a difference the drop in made for sound. It...
FL5 and DE5 powertrain parts are interchangeable for the most part with the exception of front pipe back exhaust. Install might be slightly different (intercooler) but otherwise you should be looking for FL5 parts as many won't advertise it as DE5.
PRL still doesn't have the HVI out yet and...
I will say TSP DP + PRL FP is only slightly louder than stock in Sport, Comfort is still silent. Sport + maybe is a bit louder? At first I thought it was a little boomy, but either I got used to it or it quieted down. I think it might have more pops and bangs, and with a tune it's definitely...
I had to ship mine to a friend in WA and have him ship it down. Your other option is to get the uncoated version, have it shipped to an out of state coating place and then have them ship it to you. Swain Tech was willing to do it, I am sure other places will as well.
The best way to solve it is to switch to narrower/less sticky tires :) 200TW on my S2000 made it sound like I was driving one of these anytime I hit a road with loose gravel.
It slides right out, mine rubbed so much it's hard to keep on the car. I have had to reattach the driver side once and Passenger side 3 times. And that was before I lowered it.
IMO, no matter the OD (they don't make a 125/75 so this is likely closest) you will still have a drastic difference in weight, grip, contact patch, etc.. which isn't great for the LSD. But more importantly, given this platform, I don't see a scenario where I wouldn't swap the rears up front from...
Yes, stock rim is 9.5" which is within the range for a 285 install. Also, someone is running 275/35/19 on their CTR so it does fit, not sure it's worth giving up the gearing though.
285s fit on the rim and plenty of CTRs running 285/35/18s on varying drops and offsets. Not sure if I have seen a 20mm but I am sure someone did it. And yes, this will give you even more poke.
The 30 is the sidewall percent relative to the width. So a 275/30 or 285/30 will have more sidewall. Not huge, but when you are starting with rubber bands every little bit helps more than you would think. As an example, the 285/30s OD is only 1.6% larger, but sidewall size increases 10%.
