I get where you're coming from. I've read posts on this forum over the last 2+ years about the perceived misses of the DE5 and it sounds a little greedy, especially at the price point. I also can't help but think that what people have been describing is a G80 M3, which probably annoys you to...
You really don't know why the CTR has so many track focused screens and the ITS doesn't? It's obvious, or at least it should be. These vehicles are platform siblings but they diverge when it comes to brand philosophy and market positioning. I thought everyone was clear on this back in 2023. If...
I'm satisfied with it and it's what you would expect from this type of OTS map. It's a stop gap until I get the car custom tuned in the coming months. I posted general thoughts about it on the other forum here and here.
I posted this as well which some may find helpful or interesting:
Here is...
This and this. I've been twice and will go again at the end of October with a friend. The BMW Performance Center is a must-attend if you're an automotive enthusiast. It's an incredible opportunity to get behind the wheel of late model M cars on track in a safe and controlled environment. The...
Phearable touts rev hang disabled as one of the many features of their OTS map. Have you engaged them to better understand how they're defining 'rev hang' and what you're experiencing? It's worth a discussion, and perhaps the outcome could be a revision that solves this. I was out with the...
This is a curious observation. I'm on the COBB OTS Stage 1 map (FL5), and the rev hang I experienced on the stock map is either completely gone or largely imperceptible. And what I mean by rev hang is the noticeable delay and jump in revs before RPMs drop when you disengage the clutch during...
You don't need all of that to achieve the desired results. An aftermarket intake will likely get you what you need. If the intake isn't enough for you, reassess and take the next step. Use a scalpel, not a sledgehammer.
With the curvature of the glass, the technique and microfiber media is more important than the product. I can name 10-15 glass cleaners that will work very well, but with poor technique or microfiber cloths it won't matter. A windshield cleaner tool and glass specific microfiber cloths are the way.
The dealership is the last place you should've taken it. Don't take it back to the dealership for them to fix it. Consider yourself lucky and quit while you're ahead. Find a proper body shop if you need this addressed.
@MERAKIAUTOWORKS is right on in that the perception or tolerance of drone is different for different people. What's great for one person, might annoy another. Based on what I've read online, doubtful some people even know what drone is. It's discussed so often it's become this nebulous...
STEK, SunTek, XPEL are the 'go to' films for paint protection. While the installer is important, so is the film. The best film installer in the world cannot care for a film that will yellow, distort, or peel after two years on the car. Perform the due diligence and you'll be fine. Watch out for...
It should but a cautionary tale, but it's not and it won't be. How many times does this need to be discussed? And I still can't make heads or tails if this video was created for clicks or out of sheer ignorance. It's shocking that in 2024 enthusiasts still don't understand how a chassis...
We're for sure in the minority. I agree, more power in this car doesn't make sense to me. I never thought I'd say this but the stock power levels are perfect. It just works!
The value proposition is questionable if you're looking at it from a practical perspective; however, I realize a bad value prop has never stopped an enthusiast from spending money. If you plan to tune the car, the gains from these aftermarket intakes disappear. In other words, unless you get...
Many years ago Michelin put out language on this topic that tires with more aggressive compounds should not be used in tempuratutes "at or near freezing". I believe that language is no longer used by Michelin. The general rule of thumb is tempuratures below 40°F.
I lived in the DC area for many years and I would not run summer tires in the winter months. Some will argue you can work around it by taking it easy or letting them warm up first. I disagree. Do the reasonable thing and put on all seasons at a minimum. If you have a garage and another vehicle...
For $1,500+ I expect the intake to fit properly. It's only one of the most expensive intakes on offer for this platform. The end user shouldn't have to Jerry rig and finesse what should be a finished product. For all that one could opt for the PRL HVI for a 1/3 the cost.
