Appreciate the responses.
For me, I spend a lot of time not touching throttle. Every time I back out of a parking space, or taking off at a light, I'm usually engaging the clutch and moving before any throttle is applied. At the track, it's every time I roll onto the scales or dyno that gentle...
How are the vibrations when using no throttle to engage from a stop? Like when going up a driveway or backing up?
I used an insert which are generally supposed to be softer than a full mount, but it was pretty bad so it came out after 80 miles.
Oh yeah. Any plastic area that echoed I threw a tiny bit of butyl on. Doesn't take much for it to go from Chinese toy to German toy (I joke here, but my parents bought my son some German toys and omg the plastic quality is on another level).
Nope.
The button is tied to a local memory function and the canbus. It's one button module, though. You'd have to find another button module potentially and then crack the canbus to update the registry. Since your name has all track in the name I assume you're familiar with obd eleven and the...
Lots of common rattles in the doors with speaker grill, wire harnesses, and in some cases (like mine) broken mounting clips from factory. Someone pinpointing the noise first will help get you started. I've chased and fixed a dozen or so rattles now... Tearing up my whole dash soon to try and fix...
I think my favorite result is the window switches. Interacting with them now actually feels "solid" and expensive since adding butyl around the button and to the plastic panel back.
I didn't make it soft touch, but I did add butyl and agg foam to the backside of the panel. That uplifts the feel dramatically. It's still hard plastic, but it's no longer cheap and hollow. The density, echo, and feel is greatly improved.
You're adding spacers for winter?
That's a different take, lol. I usually go as inset as I can to keep the rock salt, debris, and gunk off the paint as much as possible 🙃.
Agreed, I like those floor tiles. Those are helpful in winter!
Not in your head. Keeping exhaust warm keeps the gas moving. It's still nowhere near an NA or supercharged engine, but it does improve a lot. Especially as things heat soak and you're in the higher torque range.
Mine have been going for over a year without issue. Almost 12k miles with them.
I think the spoiler is good, and I like the fill they have since it's rubbery and kills some hatch vibration/noise. The weave is great and clearly not oversanded.
The mirror caps are garbage in design around the...
Thanks!
I have the acuity spring and the lower mount things set aside to install. I plan at some point over this winter to rip apart the entire dash and finally fix the extremely frustrating screen, dash, vent, and charger rattles that make my head want to explode over chip sealed roads. That...
That's really smart! I love it. I didn't realize it would bunch until after the zip tie was on, and then I told myself I'd go back and do something about it later. Maybe one day after I get to the rest of the backlog of parts to install 🤣🤣.
I use the acuity ti collar. I like it, and I got it to match the trim ring on my knob. Hold well, moves easily to swap/adjust. Only issue is that it's a touch smaller than the boot so you have to strategically bunch it. It's a minor thing, though.
Is that a tl type s lurking?
Until the its, I always thought the tl type s was the one car that Honda did really well on stylistically at all angles. I still think it's their best looking one, and I kind of envision the its as its successor.
The gray looks nice on the green and in that light...
Yes the Rockford is worth it for a perfect drop-in into the stock box.
I recommend some kilmat on the outside of the box where it echoes as well as inside in certain hollow sounding areas. The pillow foam fill also helps virtually expand volume due to the surface area. Even if you don't swap...
The green clips bend too much when used, so I would treat them as one time use.
I inspect each when I pull off a panel and if the area around the bottom of the barb part looks a slightly different green or is bent, the clip goes in the trash.
They're cheap, just find a decent online parts...
Sport plus introduces a touch more fuel and timing delay once the exhaust valve opens. The heat of the exhaust and catalytic converter rapidly ignites the tiny amount of fuel and it goes bang.
Since it's typically precat it doesn't dramatically raise emissions. Having drive modes is what let's...
