The typical 150$ is fair, assuming they do a good job and the damage wasn't too terrible. The folks in my area do a pretty 99% job, even to my unrealistic standards 😅. When it reaches like 3" inward on a spoke (like I've had from bad potholes), that's when I buy a new rim. Haven't had it happen...
Call the dealer and ask who they use. We have a place near me that send a van out and they just fix it on site. They're really the only ones in my area, and if the nick is larger than 3" and pretty deep, I just buy a new wheel.
Multiple subaru owner here and I can also say I've never had a reliability concern with them, except for the clutch assembly ripping away from the firewall, but that's also my fault for putting in a crazy heavy pressure plate. This car does not rip it in second like a tuned ej... It's more...
I recommend calling up Apex. They're great to work with and might be willing to give you a pre-sale discount 😉.
18s all the way for me. The flexibility in choice and lower tire cost is too great to ignore the advantages of. If you decide you hate the dws (not saying you will, but I've known...
Believe it or not, your speedo wouldn't be that far off. The oem speedo already reads about 2mph high at 65mph (from what I've seen from those police speed displays) so a 2.5-3mph difference in the other direction brings you a little closer to real speed. Either way though, I get what you're...
The problem with oem wheel size for me was that virtually no true winter tire options exist. I prefer to run a "performance winter" (in my case the vredstein wintrac pro - which I love for how sporty they are) because we get a lot of ice and transient snows in my area which all seasons just...
As mentioned, as long as they're the 433mhz ones it will pick up. The oem ones are continental.
If all are not reporting, I would bet they either didn't use a 433mhz sensor or they didn't orient it correctly inside the wheel.
I tossed my winter wheels and tires back on today. Vredstein wintrac pro on apex ec7 18".
I cannot overstate how great of a performance tire this is for the cold! It behaves like a very good summer tire with lower limits and has a really great tendency to oversteer which makes it a blast to...
Glad to help! 😊
You know, I've had multiple people stop me and ask where I got the wheels and when I tell them they're oem the jaws drop! I'm used to seeing them, so I don't think much about it... However, I always park slightly on a curb when I pick up my son from school and when we come back...
Confirmed, the oem wheels are made by enkei and they are "flow formed" or "flow forged", whatever your preferred terminology is. That means the face of the wheel is cast and the barrel is heated and then stretched to forged. More specifically they are the higher end enkei MAT process where under...
You should not have to be doing this on a new car, especially yourself.
I've taken the seats apart and there's nothing odd or special. They're the same as any other standard seat out there. The creaking is likely coming from one of the straps or numerous seat stays. Several of mine were just...
Yes it's the same wheel well fitment with that size tire. I believe I bought mine off Amazon that were some "made in America" advertising since apex was out of theirs at the time.
It depends on how sensitive you are to feel, honestly. Generally you might notice a bit more understeer, more...
Really great call out. Thank you!
My oem all weather mats squeak at the left plastic lock when I shift, so I was looking at tux. Not sure which thing would annoy me more now, 😂.
The easiest way is usually looking closely at the barrel to see if it's smooth and has very clean even lines from where the metal was stretched under heat.
Sometimes there's a mark on the wheel/hub side where it says FF or similar.
Biggest "feel method" is usually sound and weight where the...
I thought they were flow formed by enkei? Pretty sure I saw an enkei stamp on them... But I'll have them off in a few days for the apex winters to go on, so I'll see if I can find it then.
Is there an option in your scan tool to relearn the wastegate position?
I haven't messed with the acura wg, but on my vw the electronic wg required a relearn procedure any time you touched it with any micro adjustment. I would expect there's a similar voltage zeroing process where you close it...
If you go to coils, just make sure to get support and time to tune them in properly. I've seen a lot of people just crank it up to stiff thinking they'll go faster, only to find out they're going slower. The ideal coil will use a lot of shock travel and avoid being stiff just to be stiff.
