I have about 2" until roofline at this point and my son is sitting at just under 44" tall. He could technically go backless, but I hadn't planned on getting him there until he was at 49". 49 is the cutoff to move to backless.
How do you have the base adjusted? With it set to position 6 (FF...
Have not replaced the bolstering, but the cover is fairly easy to remove. The bolster is part of the foam bottom, so you'd have to choose a denser foam and cut the cushion, then replicate that same shape (maybe a bit taller). The challenge comes into how it would be supported so you'd likely...
LOL, don't thank me, thank Chris!
I really like the sizing as well. It feels more "fitted" in the palm. As a bonus, I've noticed the finish on the LW knob is more durable than the oem ti, so my wedding band isn't scratching it up!
The style is similar enough too.
I'd love vs5rs in motorsports gold. That's a really good combo with red.
Did you ceramic coat yours BTW? I have done ceramic on my last 4 sets of wheels and it makes brake dust removal so much easier, especially on the I beam style spokes on apex wheels.
That's a good take. Agreed "budget" might not be the best term. Quality products, and a good step above most flow formed wheels. Barrel designs are generally strong too from the.
It's nothing against apex at all. They make a quality product and I trust it in function, but they're still a fairly generic factory stamp out. They do spend more time looking at fitment, weight trimming, and other track focused details and that's where the money really stretches. I do love...
As much as I love apex, they are a "budget track wheel". The finish on all of mine has been okay, but it's not quite up to OZ quality.
Still a great wheel, but similar paint durability to oem. The tire seat knurling is chef's kiss.
Most of my bends have occurred due to potholes or rough...
If you want options you have to go 18s. You can even get R7 and Michelin slicks in the 18 that fit. Once you go to the purple and blue crack, there's just no going back ?
There are basically zero tire options in a 285/35, plus you'd be running a 2% taller gearing rather than a 3% shorter gearing. 285/30 is a competitive BMW e46 sizing, so it's very available and has many tire options.
I bet with a bit of work a 295/30 could be squeezed on, but that might be too...
I do. These are my winters and I threw on the track tires for now. Ideally I'd like to go to an 18x10.5 et47 with a 285/30.
These are the 18x9.5 et58. They fit great and torque steer is mostly unaffected.
Depends how you define "safe" and to what end.
Modern cars are designed to run a little warmer and these days with how stable synthetic oils are, cars are meant to run higher temps. Many synth oils can run stable up to 325F and it's preferable to do so with a thinner oil with tighter...
Wow, great data. It really goes to show how good the stock cooling system is! Under 300F on oil temps and under 240F on coolant is a great place to be on track for a street car. At those temps you shouldn't really worry about being "too hot" and simple changes like water + water wetter would...
Water and water wetter is simpler, faster, cheaper, and will result in better cooling performance.
Bonus points (cooling and aero) for properly sealing off the cooling stack so all ingress air is forced through it.
Correct.
One of the best ways to really address cooling is to seal off every bit of gap around the front of the intercooler/radiator. Racing tape is key for this, https://www.pegasusautoracing.com/productselection.asp?Product=3320
Most people don't want to go down that route though.
