Already commented on the camber in the 'what did you do' thread- if I haven't cornered you to tell you about the camber changes after springs already I'll tell you now that you probably won't notice much unless you're pushing the car hard but the camber makes a difference in a let's just say...
Did you pull your strut tower pins? Front camber is far more reasonable than mine was. IIRC mine was -1.4, -1.1. Almost a full degree variance... that's a crazy amount of variance from the factory if you didn't pull those pins...
As for the springs, it's subtle but IMHO absolutely essential...
This reminds me, I STRONGLY recommend heading to South Carolina and getting some seat time at the BMW Performance Center. I had the immense pleasure of doing my local BMWCCA's "M Performance Day" where I spent a full day out there behind the wheel of the latest M cars. This was in 2016 mind you...
The rev overhang thing is very much getting beat to death, there is the dedicated thread for that but I understand that for those who get aggravated by it, it's a really big deal. But... statistically speaking, folks who complain about it are a very small percentage of the populous. Personally...
Yeah unfortunately short of a respray there isn't much to be done. The only thing I'll tell you is I had to really squint to see any different in the images you shared, it is far less noticeable on the darker colors, but as you imply a heavy dose of copium is pretty much your only available...
The bumpers are painted separately from the rest of the car. It's kind of luck of the draw, as the factory isn't hermetically sealed and conditions inside the factory can vary on a day-to-day basis. My car for example is great, all panels match well. I've seen others though that weren't so...
In all seriousness, I think this is a problem with perception. I get what you guys are saying. There is something about the way this car (and other Hondas...) behaves with the way the revs "hang around" erratically compared to other manual cars I've driven.
But I think that's where it ends...
Emblem color/presence is probably the most subjective choice there is on these cars. I find myself thinking the chrome emblems look great on my car sometimes, but then @Victorofhavoc will post a picture that has me second guessing that. It's like picking a wedding ring color. No one really cares...
I feel like I might need to get spacers for the winter when I have the OEM wheels back on. I've only been half-paying attention but now that tons of people seem to be putting these on their cars, I recall seeing that some were having issues with the OEM studs hitting the wheels in some cases? I...
Sounds like a great time, but this is an Interesting take and I'll take the opportunity to comment.
First of all- How exactly does one "take the lead" on a public road with a posted speed limit of 35mph?
I don't necessarily agree or disagree with your assessment- I'd say both the DE5 and the...
What an absolute joke!
Am I taking crazy pills? Since when is it acceptable behavior to shout "you're going on the ignore list" after writing a nonsensical dissertation? I don't care what platform you're on, that is not how adults communicate.
And this is a demonstrated habit at this point.
Interesting that one of the only reasons to pick a CS over a regular ass Competition is the dampers... which you said GTFOH anyway lol. I can't necessarily argue though because I'm sure the tractives are a categorical upgrade...
I'll try to muster up the willpower to head out to TPC Racing and...
Yeah it's been "coming soon" for quite some time now. I had one in a 991.2 Carrera S with SPASM and it was a transformational mod, especially considering the price. ~$1400 isn't cheap, but stack that up to a set of coilovers and it becomes very appealing.
Basically it's just "more" of what the...
Dealers are going to piss you off, just look at that as basic fact. Especially for anyone unfamiliar with how they operate. They will almost certainly push you to buy extra shit that have questionable value. It's part of how they make money, and they can be very aggressive with it... but right...
I've actually seen quite a few believe it or not. Obviously still a rare car but if I had to guess I've seen at least 10-12 out in the wild, of various colors.
Have yet to see another red one though!
And also while on the topic, sometimes I'll see one and have to confirm it's actually an...
Personally I don't think this is a good platform for high horsepower endeavors. Even if the engine may be capable, the platform doesn't suit it.
Kudos to anyone who gets the reference.
If you love high horsepower, rear- or all-wheel drive is irrefutably superior, and this generation's M cars...
