I went with continental sport contact. A bit cheaper and similar performance. Mainly the ride is so much better now.

I've run the Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 Plus in the past and absolutely love them. They made the ride noticeably quieter, and I really appreciate the peace of mind you get from the extra width, helping to prevent curb rash.

Any particular reason you’re not keen on an oiled filter? I’ve had different brands/types of oiled filters on cars, trucks, and motorcycles over decades and haven’t run into issues. Full disclaimer, I was an early adopter of the infinity intake (and inlet) and I love it.

The infinity looks dope, don’t blame U for loving it. I mean, look at that thing. You know?

I just want a better filtering filter. That’s all. The cheapest dry filter will absolutely filter better than the best oiled filter it seems. Removing my prl intake to clean the fine dust from the area post “filter” sucks

I get why it’s an oiled filter. For the size that was available U can’t go dry, dry flows like shit hence why it has to be over sized some. For the sake of flow. And that’s not an option on the fl5 and de5 unless you totally think outside of the box.

You can go with PRL and replace their filter with an equivalent AEM cone filter. I'm using AEM Dryflow 21-2093DK as a replacement. Trouble-free for almost 12k miles now.

I usually use a mid or low grade Fran oil filter from Walmart. I checked there the other day, and they were cleaned out. I found out later that Fran went out of business, or rather, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
I replace my oil and filter every 5000 miles, but I am questioning this pace. My car's oil is at 60% and has an A1 code. A1 means on the next service, they change the oil and NOT the filter. Should I change to replacing the oil and filter every 10K miles?

DI platforms tend to suffer from fuel dilution, tolerances on modern engines are quite high, these cars get quite hot, etc. I replace the filter every time I change the oil, and I change the oil frequently -- sub 5k miles. Compared to the cost of the car, etc., oil + a filter is cheap... I can't imagine spending $55k on a car and then pinching pennies on maintenance.

That said, you'll likely be fine following the maintenance minder. I haven't looked at it... are you sure it calls for changing oil and leaving the oil filter? You aren't confusing engine air filter with the oil filter?

That’s wild. Knowing damn well their blue oil filter is trash. Honda wants people to do an oil change without swapping the oil filter?! Incredible.
