Hello everyone!

I’m currently in the process of finalizing a custom gauge pod for my 2025 Integra Type-S, and I figured I’d share the journey so far in case anyone else has considered doing something similar.

To start off: I absolutely love my ITS. It’s an incredible car in almost every way. My biggest gripe, however, is the wireless charger. It’s painfully slow — to the point where I’d be lucky to gain 1% every few minutes. Because of that, I stopped bothering to line my phone up properly and eventually just abandoned the charger altogether.

I could’ve used a wired charger, but I hated having a cable running across the shifter area. Instead, I ended up plugging into the ports inside the center console and tossing my phone either in there or on the passenger seat. Over time, the wireless charging area just became dead space that I stopped thinking about entirely.

I’ve always loved having gauges in my cars —
2004 WRX, 2005 STI, 1998 Eclipse, 1991 300ZX, 2022 ZL1, and others. Naturally, I wanted to add gauges to the Type-S. To my surprise, there really aren’t any good options available. What I found were mostly universal solutions that require drilling, double-sided tape, or A-pillar pods (mostly intended for the Civic, with questionable fitment for the Integra and no clear vendor support).

Recently, I added gauges to my weekend car — a 2006 RX-8 — and ended up designing a custom pod that holds two 52 mm gauges while still retaining the factory cigarette lighter (the location was originally an ashtray).

That project sparked the idea: why not repurpose the unused wireless charging area in the Type-S?

My goal was to design something that:
  • Press-fits with a satisfying “click”
  • Uses no screws, no tape, and no permanent modifications
  • Is 100% reversible
  • Has zero rattle or movement
  • Has clean, factory-like gaps (if any)
  • Retains access to the USB, USB C, & 12v port
  • Keeps the passenger airbag indicator visible

Over the past week, I’ve been chipping away at this project during my limited free time (full-time job, family, being a dad, etc.), iterating constantly and test-fitting in the car.

It’s not perfect yet, but it’s getting very close.
The final version will be printed in PETG, then sanded, primed, sanded again, and finished in satin black so it blends seamlessly with the interior.
You will not be able to tell it is a 3d printed part, and the materials are very durable and can withstand the Florida sun.

Video of current draft showing the "click in" and that once its set there is no movement at all.
It has two primary points of contact and a flat plane.

I don’t currently have any plans to sell these — this is just a personal project I wanted to share. I doubt there would be much interest anyways. If there is, i will, but It would have to be a group buy with Forum Mod approval. I think this will fit the A-Spec as well, but i need to test it. Luckily, my girlfriend has a 2024 Integra A-Spec. I’m still deciding whether to connect the two gauges into a single housing or keep them independent, as well as whether to keep the current straight orientation, or angle the gauges slightly (~10°) toward the driver for better visibility.

I have two 52 mm gauges arriving this Thursday, so I’ll be doing a test fit shortly. My goal is to have this revision finalized (sanded, primed, sanded, painted, wired, and installed) by this weekend.

Thanks for checking it out — more updates soon!

I second this. I would love an oil temp gauge in that space. You would have a customer in me if you can make that happen.
I like the color of your RX-8.

Luckily, the part is made for our car but the gauges are universal!

You can choose whichever gauges you like and whichever styles. I personally love Glowshift Gauges, but AEM is also very popular.

This is awesome. Curious, how do the gauges get their data/what do they connect to?

God I just saw the rx8. Fuck that engine

I love rotaries. But fuck them. They truly are pain

had dual 10a’s, built. Had a built 12a too. And a 13b single turbo swap lightly tuned

my god….. rotary ownership tests a man

“we have a rotary support club. No one can make it to the meetings cuz no one’s car will start or maybe they blew an apex seal” used to be a common saying around the Puerto Rican homies

Would you be willing to sell unfinished prints (so recipient can paint, sand, etc.)?

This is probably asking too much but it would be cool to relocate all the drive mode buttons to that location so that an exposed CAE shifter could be installed.

Pretty well done. I’d love to be able to see oil temp (using an actual oil temp sensor) myself

I messaged the Moderator for the forum and was given permission for low volume sales.
Once i finalize the design, have a final print, and finish it up; ill make a post showcasing it!

It will be a raw print. It will be black and pretty clean, but it will need to be sanded and painted to really look oem. Alternatively i also have a few other colors i can do it in for those that don't want to do any additional work.

Depends on the gauges selected. Some you wire in yourself, while others can just plug into the 02 Sensor. AEM X Series Gauges plug into the OB2 Port and can scroll between the following:
AT, EGT, RPM, Ethanol %, MAF, Fuel Pressure, Manifold Pressure, Boost Pressure, TPS, Vehicle Speed, Lambda and more (channel availability is ultimately dependent upon what channels are programmed to transmit by the vehicle manufacturer).

Honestly its not too bad!
I had 2 E92 335i's (ironically both 2007's) for a total of 5 years. Now THAT was an awful experiance. Every weekend i was under the car and it ended up on a tow truck like 5 times a year lol. Engine is incredible, but all the engine accessories are garbageeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Good Afternoon Everyone!

I have an awesome update to share. After 14 revisions, its FINALLY DONE!
The overall design came out great, and it fits even better than before.

I mocked up gauges, and everything fits with plenty of room for wiring to be retained. Nothing from the car has to be removed to put in the gauge, aside from any wires you have to run (depending on the gauges you put in). Run the wires, put your gauges in the pod, plug in your gauges, and push the gauge pod into place.

Also, I received Moderator Approval to sell a limited run of them!
I will make one more post on this thread, linking the thread for a group buy. I'm thinking ~10 spots, as I am an everyday guy that doesn't want to spend days and days printing and shipping lol. This isnt a business venture to make hundreds of gauge pods, just share my mod with the community :) I have to run my costs for supplies and shipping, but i think they will only be like $50 each. Will probably also do black, white, or dark blue.

Are you willing to share the print files for those of us with printers or just want to sell them? Happy to pay for the flies as well to help recover some of the R&D cost.

Honestly haven't gotten that far yet lol. Ill have to get through the initial batch, then ill make a decision. If you buy one and I DO decide to sell the file in the future, ill give it to you for free as well. Just save a screen cap of this comment ;)
