I was curious if anyone had replaced their wheels with the Acura TLX Type-S rims? The specs are similar:

Specification 2023 Acura TLX Type S2024 Acura Integra Type S
Diameter20 inches19 inches
Width9 inches9.5 inches
Bolt Pattern5x120 mm5x120 mm
Offset+50 mm+60 mm
Center Bore64.1 mm64.1 mm

I realize the look is very similar to the ones that come standard on the ITS, but they seem a bit cleaner and closer to the look of the Apex VS5RS.

The offset would also push the wheel out to be a bit more flush on the ITS.

Thoughts?

The change in offset will be partially negated by the narrower wheel, resulting in a 3.65mm (just over 1/8”) shift of the wheel outward compared to stock.

I’m not sure what tire sizing looks like for 20x9 wheels to keep the same OD, but it also seems like lots of folks are going +5% without any issues aside from the speedometer being off.

I believe that a tire size of 255/35R20 has an almost identical overall diameter (within 1%) to the stock 19-inch setup, which should ensure that the speedometer and odometer remain accurate.
I'm curious if using a 275/30R20 tires would work and be a compatible size for a 9-inch wide wheel, while still maintaining a very close overall diameter to stock.

🤷‍♂️

Not sure how you are calculating those numbers, but 255/35-20 is going to be ~7% taller than the stock 265/30-19.

275/30-20 is 5% taller than stock, and may squeeze onto a 9” wheel but it will probably be pinched.

Yeah, my math was way off. Should be something more like a 265/30R20. Thanks!

Even that will be ~4% taller than stock, and is not a common size as far as I'm aware. You'd need to go to a 265/25-20 to be close to stock diameter, and I'm not aware of any tires in that size.

Can't really see any reason why the TLX-S wheels would be worth the effort.

Ok, I appreciate the help & feedback! For the record, this was what I ended up using to get the numbers I calculated:

Going to 20" wheels on the ITS will give you less tire meat. Way more chances of screwing up a wheel. Don't think it would be a good idea.

But in the spring, when I change tires, I could check since I have both cars.

That’s cool you have both cars! I had a 2023 TLX Type S prior to my ITS. I wanted the ITS but at the time there was a 10 month waiting list and the day I was there they happened to have a black TLX Type S coming in. I bought it sight unseen and drove it home! It’s a great car! It would’ve been nice to have both cars, but since I can only have one right now, I chose to get the Integra a little more than a year after getting the TLX when the ‘25s came out. I just had to have a manual again!

The ITS replaced a 2005 Accord 6-6. My wife drives the ITS most of the time as she works close from home. The TLX replaced a 2014 Honda Fit, that I used to go to work in traffic. At one point, I really got tired of the rough ride of the Fit. Wanted a CTR for myself, but with all the traffic, the TLX is a better choice. Much more comfortable.

I just sold my 2018 Honda Fit that was a manual EX. Loved that car and the gas mileage! But it was time for a better manual!

The offset would also push the wheel out to be a bit more flush on the ITS.
The best way to think about offset is that it controls where the wheel is centered on the face of the hub, not where the face of the wheel sits.

+50 offset wheels in 8", 9", and 10" will have faces that sit in different spots in half-inch steps. But the center of those wheels will be exactly the same, relative to the face of the hub on the brake rotor or drum.

8", 9", and 10" wheels that have faces that sit in the same spot will have an increasingly positive offset of 12.7mm each step up in size to negate half of the wheel's increase in width.

So the faces of an 8" +40, 9" +53, and 10" +65 will all sit in about the same spot on the face, and each step up in size will have an inch less backspacing.
