I feel like this didn't get the comments it deserved but wow. I don't like how "flat" the 19" TE37s Saga's look but these look fantastic.

Where did you get these?
Sorry, super late in seeing this but I have a friend who works closely with Sensei 6 and they helped put the order in for me!

Installed a Remark SS exhaust today. It's a full 3" downpipe-back system (includes a high quality front pipe). Installation was very easy, with excellent fitment. The included hardware is decent quality zinc plated stuff, and the gaskets are excellent - nice and thick and the right compressible material. I got a leak-free installation on the first try.

Now, to the sound. It's amazing on the top end. Growls but also has a higher pitch harmonic that I was looking for, and is lacking from much of the JDM stuff. The not so good is that there is a little bit of drone. I am going to let it break in and then decide if I want to add in a vibrant resonator ahead of the existing Remark one. There's room for a bottle style for sure, and possibly an ultra-quiet variant. Will decide that later.

I am satisfied with the result as it's the look and sound I was seeking, and any drone can be easily addressed through the additional resonator if I decide I can't adapt to the new sound at lower RPMs. But again, the WOT sound is outstanding. Best I've heard on this platform.

Update: after much fiddling, I have gotten the system to a volume/drone level that I can tolerate. The downside is that I am more of a fan of higher-pitched harmonics but if you try to quiet down a 4cyl with typical tools (ie not a helmholtz res) you are going to deepen the fundamental frequency of the system. Most people these days actually prefer this, but I do not.

That said, my goals for making this change were primarily to get more flow with a full 3 inch system, and a better looking set of outlets in the back. Sound was secondary bc I just don't like the sound of 4 cyl engines in general.

So, what did I change?
I added a Vibrant "Ultra Quiet" Resonator 1142 right after the front pipe connection, and swapped out the Remark 5" bottle resonator with a much larger Vibrant 1119 6" diameter 14" long round muffler which fits just fine between the heat shields. overall volume is very tolerable, with just the slightest remaining 2.5-3k drone, but nothing like it was before.

I do think i am more sensitive to drone that many others, given my preference for higher frequency sounds and less desire for bass (even in my music), so take my concerns and modifications accordingly and don't write off the Remark system, as I still think it's well engineered and achieves its goals.

Now, I wouldn't blame you for wondering why did I bother buying an engineered aftermarket exhaust only to chop it up and installed parts from another manufacturer? The answer is, i could have gone fully custom but in the end it would have been much more expensive because much of the cost of a custom system is in the trial-and-error of getting all the compound curves, lengths, etc. right. By buying a fully built well-fitting system, I bypassed that step and got to focus on the modular pieces to get the sound I wanted.

Guys

the black thingy on the inlet. The thing that says type s. Is that cf? Also, what the hell is it for. I saw a pic of what’s in there and it just confused me more. Also, is there a reason it’s at that angle?

thnx if U can answer. Appreciate u

It's a cover that seals a helmholtz resonator port within the intake tract, whose purpose is to reduce intake noise at certain frequencies. Basically the whole contraption makes the car quieter. It's why if you replace the inlet tube with an aftermarket one you get more induction sound. Whether that's a good or bad thing is merely a matter of preference. Personally I want more noise so I upgraded to the PRL inlet.

BTW some aftermarket companies will try to tell you it's a "heatsink" and that you should replace it with a finned metal cover to reduce intake temps. This is bs, and if anything since metal is more thermally conductive than plastic you'd be making heat soak worse, if at all.

Replacing it to look pretty is the only valid reason to do so.
