Good job. Car sits perfect now ! Yes, on my first try, it wasn't happening as planned. But on the 2nd, it went much much better. Don't forget to get your alignment done now.. The camber will be out just a little. I think they do a camber kit? maybe ? i dunno, i'm just running without it for now. its just out of spec.

Yea, it helped to walk away and have a sleep on it. Really have to man handle the front end when you’re working from the ground by yourself. Yea alignment early next week. Just did short road test and hard to say it drives much different besides being lower. Love it should have came this way.

and so much better. The installed tested my patience a bit. But feel good i got it done.

Yes, to a weekend wrencher, springs are pretty tough to install IMO. And, since I only do it every 4 or 5 years, I never really get into the groove. I got some help this time around and it was such a relief. But have to say, it's worth the pain.

Nice. Do you have any rubber inserts on your jack stands? I was wanting to minimize damage straddling the pinch points

It was a pain I called a shop , to see if they had guys that worked after hours since I don’t know any wrenches down here. He was finished up some other after hours projects. I ended up getting it on my own. We kept texting and meet up at the local car meet this morning, Now I know some fellow wrenches ..

pinch welds seem fine I’ll look but I lowered her down on the stands ever so smoothly

I tell ya the Integra gets love from the mid age humans but some young kid told me was dumb they didn’t make it in an auto would be faster. I said dude it’s not a drag car What it came down to is he couldn’t drive stick. Which means my over priced Honda was no good for him. I tell ya. Youths these days. Even asked me if I had an instagram car page. I said no man I don’t do that stuff. out side of that banter car was taken pretty well lot of people haven’t seen one or even knew Acura brought the Integra back.

Here are the torque specs for civic SI and Type R. Use the Type R torque values of course!

I have the Eibach pro kit installed, it's awesome! It was very straighforward. i watched a you tube video of a guy doing it on an FL5 the "easy way" and it worked great. Of course there's always some swearing and grunting along the way but this guys video was exactly what I needed. Helps to have a buddy around for more muscle and an extra set of hands.

Oh, be sure to get an alignment within a day or so of install.

Did you use a strut nut socket or pass through wrench when doing yours?

I actually did it at a shop, with help from a mechanic. We had air tools so just blasted the top nut off. I was prepared with a pass through wrench, but didn't need to use it.

I'm looking to do mine soon.
Just got my h&rs today!

Been doing my research and taking notes.
Dealer wants $1200 for springs and alignment, so I've decided I'm so it myself. Will void steering and suspension warranty.

Only risk I'm seeing is the axle seal. Some remove the axle nut while others don't.
From what I can tell, the axle comes out of the trans when the rotor gets angled downward, which seems avoidable.

Your suggestion about the 2x4.. if I understand you correctly... use that to push the strut assembly upward versus pulling the rotor/axle assembly downward?

I wonder if replacing the seal is cheaper than the quote they have me 😂.

Well, I may be back with some questions after I finish my research.

Thanks for sharing!

Remove axle nut and get a strut spreader tool. Cheap on Amazon. Will make the job 10x better than having to fight removing the strut from spindle.

I would recommend getting a spreader tool like @SKINNIE said, like I would REALLY recommend doing that because it was easily the worst part about the install. It's not difficult to get the strut moving in the knuckle, but to get it out completely was a nightmare for my car. It is somewhat surprising how far down the strut sits in the knuckle.

I would also say you should probably remove the axle nut. I know that might suck a bit, and you should likely get a replacement for it, but both of my axles popped out, and the driver's side actually ripped the seal. There was no way to avoid it on my car since I didn't remove the axle nut. If/when I have to touch the springs or struts again, there is no way I am doing it without a spreader tool and I'm removing the axle nut, guaranteed.

In contrast, I put adjustable lower ball joints on the car, which some people have said is difficult or you have to remove rotors, dust shields, calipers, etc. It was one of the easiest things I have done on the car. You just bend the dust shield a bit and its a very easy install.
