Weak A/C?

I was about to complete a deal to purchase a 2025 DE5 today, and I ended up backing out. I couldn't help but notice that the A/C blows very weak, especially coming from my Explorer ST. Is this consistent with others' findings, or was this an anomaly?

I live in south Florida and it obviously gets extremely hot here, and with a 1 1/2 year old kiddo, comfort and cooling are concerns I have moving forward. I see that there's an aftermarket rear vent kit that can be installed...would this & some quality ceramic tint rectify this issue? Perhaps a windshield sunshade and side window visors as well? Is there anything that can be done to get the A/C to blow a bit stronger, perhaps a freer flowing cabin filter or something?

Any insight is appreciated, I'd like to get a DE5 into my garage but I don't want to make a mistake and have it be super uncomfortable for my family. Thanks all.

The a/c on my ITS is ice cold, I have it set on auto at 70 degrees.

I had this same issue on mine. It sorted itself out after a few days. Now it blows ice cold and feels like it can push air out. When I first got it 6 clicks felt like 1.

I keep mine about halfway on as its really cold...I did notice mine seemed weak when I first got it an messed with which vents it was coming out of, keep it on both feet an face vents an no issues here either as I'm about freezing waiting on some food lol

Hello in south florida here - AC is decent but not amazing. The air gets cold but not very quick. The noise to airflow ratio is not the best either. At the same time, neither the time to cold nor the noise to airflow ratio I would describe as bad. More so average. Bottom line is you will be warm in your car a few minutes longer but then will be completely fine.

For example my wife's 2025 RAV4 definitely gets cold faster.

When I took delivery of mine, I thought the same thing, but then I have been using it.
It doesn't blow as hard as my other vehicles, BUT it is such a small cabin, in 2 minutes or less it blows cold, and I have to turn it down within 3 minutes, it is perfect IMO.
Honda knows what they are doing.
this car is so fun to drive, looks so good, I would not let the AC get in the way, it works great.

Compared to other vehicles, the Integra doesn't blow as hard and it takes about 3-4 minutes for it to be cool. I live in central California.

She's naturally warm blooded..takes a few minutes to cool...No worries OP way to many ITS on the road any way...Ciao

I'm in Kansas and summers hit 100F occasionally. With ceramic tint it's dramatically better, but not "Comfortable" for the first 5-7 mins or so. If you drive the car moderately hard in this kind of climate the intercooler will get hot, the condenser will get super hot, and if you're sitting there at a red light it will run at full max (and unfortunately leave recirculate on) to keep somewhat cool. My son didn't complain before, but now at 5.5yo and the humid heat we've had, he has said on several occasions that it's too hot in back in the middle of a 20 min drive with the ac set at lo.

I do not have the rear vents, and I'm not sure how much they'd help since the overall system size doesn't change, just where the air blows. I also, have never been the person to fully blast AC as I get cold quickly when I'm sweaty, but in this car I will blast it all the time. I drove 3 ITS and they were all the same. The Alcantara and lack of vented seats does not help the back sweat issues.

Unless there's a "hot climate" version of the ac system they're shipping to Southern states (I doubt there is), I don't know how you Florida folks do it. In general I don't know how you Florida folks tolerate Florida... I lived there for 13 years and can't even breathe when I go back in summers unless it's after 10pm.

@op, I would ask the dealer to give you the car for 2-3 days and then determine if it's something you can live with. Do some basic errands like a pharmacy run mid day and see if that's something you can live with. If so, then hell yeah buy the car and have some fun. If not, I wouldn't recommend putting yourself in a position where you hate the car within a few months. If you're never going to track the car, there are better daily runabout options that don't compromise creature comforts for "performance".

Update: I ended up finding another Apex Blue Ext / Black Int DE5 at a different dealer. Ended up getting it $2k cheaper and the A/C on this one seems fine. Drove it home 3.5 hours in 93 degree heat yesterday and never had to have the fan speed past half way. Getting nano ceramic tint this weekend - thanks to all who chimed in, these cars are truly fantastic.

Congrats! I turned mine to full for giggles, and yes, I have had many cars where I get blown away, and this one doesn't blow nearly as hard, but it's OK. Hope yours serves you well for years to ckme!
