Maybe. But I see 17s these days and think they look ridiculous. I'm honestly not sure of the science, but aesthetically I can't go back to the 00s in this regard.
It seems that many owners today place their vision of aesthetics above performance. With 30 series tires, there is very little tuning available by manipulating tire pressures. With a more reasonable sidewall height, handling balance can be fine-tuned with tire pressure. With these silly-ass 30 series tires, that option is virtually lost.

Hey peeps appreciate all the feedback. Some more than others obviously. Some people I guess can’t relate to the idea of myself summarizing what my dear wife summarized to me on her way back from Kohl’s. I’m sorry I didn’t make her pedal from the house back to Kohls on my Haro and get u detailed mold of the pothole in question. But obviously I didn’t. So that’s on me. Anyway yea that’s why I still got my 16’s on my AP1. But it’s all good peeps. It is what it is. Cuz that’s what it is. But now it’s like replace one tire 400. Or change it up with the Conti’s dws for all 4 tires for 1200$ installed. Choices. Choices. My good people. Choices. Choices

Some of the most gnarly potholes I’ve seen have been in parking lots. Private owners aren’t exactly happy to pay for pavement work. Pay particular attention to any you cruise through with closed stores. I nearly fell into one that was in a closed Kohls lot while cutting through to an open Meijer lol

I've seen some absolute craters show up around malls and older shopping areas. Sometimes it's a crack between lanes and you just can't avoid it. I feel in general roads have gotten worse and repaired less as everyone moved to suv and trucks as the current day wagons and minivans.

We have a lot of potholes in my area (pothole "epidemic" is what our mayor said 2 yrs ago) but I haven't lost a rim or tire to one yet. The ps4s do a decent job of taking abuse, even at the lower profile range. I'd recommend 18s or a 275/30 if you keep getting curbed or chipped.

The one warranty I did pay for with the dealer was the wheel, tire, and glass coverage for 600$ or so. So far, they've replaced one tire with a nail and did two curbing repairs (they were tiny, but still). Total repair cost value = 550$ so far. Total cost to me = 0. They said it's transferable to any wheel/tire I swap on as well.

Is that what we're doing now, blaming socialism for things like public road repair? In the new world order potholes will be repaired so much faster by the billionaires. I can't wait!
Didn't you folks deport all the road crews too? These kids should spend a day doing this shit for a change. A road worker was killed by a driver here doing exactly this, filling potholes.

I must have missed something, why the angst?

And an OEM tire should not cost you $400. Check out this thread on our sister forum for more details on buying through the dealer for an almost 50% discount.

Also there are probably some for sale used for even cheaper.

Do not put all seasons on this car unless it's below 40 degrees. It's a travesty.
