Hi,

I have about 14k miles on my ITS. Recently the start button started showing some attitude. Pushing the start button works about 30-40% of times. If it doesn't start the engine on first push, I need to push 5-6 times more until it starts successfully. I didn't take the car to a dealer yet.

I saw a thread about it in the past but cannot find it in search.

Can someone suggest what might be the issue? Is it battery? Cables to battery need to be upgraded?

Thanks!

To cover the basics: are you pushing the clutch pedal all the way down and keeping it there until the engine starts?

Something similar to this happened to me in my aspec. About 6k miles in the car “started acting up” and would start maybe 50% of the time. Until one day I realized I was releasing the clutch too early / not pushing it down all the way (I leave it in neutral when on flat ground, bad habit I know) before the engine fully started and I guess the computer shuts it down. Now I make sure I keep it depressed until it starts and never had that issue since.

Thanks! I started pushing the clutch all the way down and it seems to solve the issue!

I started a thread for a similar issue that didn't resolve so easily. I am for sure pushing the clutch in all the way and once the vehicle does start it doesn't idle up properly, doesn't have the burbles and pops in sport+, and in general doesn't drive right. Eventually it started throwing a bunch of codes and the dealer is claiming that it's due to low coolant from a failed reservoir.

We'll see if that solves the problem.
