Thanks Stan. I'm more concerned it about not being powered off and slowly draining the battery overtime rather than it staying on you know :).

I saw there’s these battery packs that can sit in the glove box and U wire the unit to it. No idea if they’re worth it but maybe check out some YouTube reviews on them? Could solve the vampire drain?

My understanding when researching this, as I wanted it to record 24/7 (parking mode) in the event of stationary tomfoolery, is that it won't drain power when the vehicle is off when hooked up to the mirror wiring harness (the plug and play method). It doesn't provide power after the accessories power off (auto dimming mirror / map lights) as they turn off after a few minutes of the vehicle being powered off. You have to get an additional wiring harness, run it down the a pillar, and either with the ODB-II adapter kit or a particular fuse on the fuse box (fuse wiring kit). They offer those harnesses on the fitcamx website for those that want the power and parking mode capability. Long story short, it won't drain your battery in the standard plug n play mode.

No, thats not possible. FitcamX taps into switched power from the rearview mirror. You'll notice you have a little light/toggle on your rearview mirror for the auto dimming function. Once you turn off the car, that light turns off=no power to the mirror.

Met up with one of my car buddies yesterday with his FL5. Yesterday was the first time I had a chance to drive the DE5 in the twisties and it did not disappoint. Very similar to my old FL5, but just a tad softer, which is fine and expected.

OK, proper intro this time. I had a deal going with a dealer in FL for a used '24 DE5 with 20K miles, but suddenly a friend of friend had a '25 car for sale with 5,200 miles for around the same price and it was a no brainer to go with the local car. No shipping and enthusiast owned.

Say hello to my new to me '25 DE5!

I am excited as a previous FL5 owner. The first drive made me feel right at home. So begin the mods!

I'm a new owner too. I was in the market for a '26 ITS but picked up this '24 instead because it was such a GREAT deal....only had 804 miles on it. I flew up to Chicago and drove it 552 miles back to Tennessee on Christmas Eve.

Since I am a hoarder of s2k parts. I amassed a bunch of shift knobs. Funny that the optional Ti knob for the DE5 is just the s2k Ti knob. I was going to throw that on, but remembered I also have a Ti s660 mini teardrop knob I can try on the DE5.

bonus pic of my s2k!

Installed the OEM mud flaps today due to the spacers on the wheels. I put a little PPF on where the mud flaps touch the paint as i've seen in past cars mud flaps that will dig into the paint.

also my copper wheels came!

awesome. my OEM flaps arrive tomorrow UPS. will put them on pronto. any comments or tips installing? i heard a number of guys didn't use the rear spring clips because they didnt want to damaget the paint and also there are enough screws to hold the flaps already. i plan to ignore those clips also. anyway let me know your install thoughts and any tips you have thanks.
