Hello Everyone,
Like you, I'm a car nut through and through. For the past decade I have been mostly a BMW guy with a smattering of Japanese and Korean marques in my garage at various points. I go through a lot of cars, but lately I've been wanting to downsize and get back into a lightweight manual transmission car. I had been dailying a BMW M550i with 600HP an M4cs with 500HP for track and weekend use. Both were automatics (the M4 was a DCT) and I missed a simpler, more exciting experience at lower speeds and ordinary driving. Those cars were very fun, to be clear, but only when going insane speeds and pulling G's.
I narrowed my list of replacements down to the FL5 and the DE5 and almost bought the Civic, but ultimately got swayed by the fact that since this would be my only car for a while, I wanted some of the creature comforts afforded by the DE5. I honestly think i would have been very happy with either, so it was a win-win.
I was a very active member on Bimmerpost for many years through my various BMWs, so i hope to become knowledgeable through this forum and become part of the community.
Here's a list of some of the other cars I've enjoyed over the last decade-ish:
BMWs: F90 M5 (two of them), 335is, F80 M3, F82 M4cs, F87 M2cs
C7 Corvette Grand sport (track car)
Genesis G70
Accord 10th gen Touring
VW Golf R (two of them)
Infiniti G37s
And here's a pic of the new ride!
best,
-Ash
