M340i walks away from an ITS any day of the week tbh a tuned ITS would have an issue with a stock one. The b48 (330i) is no slouch either and with awd pretty quick. The ITS is a great drivers car in the sense of the Miata etc, fun around corners and the shifter is amazing, but drag racing speed is not its forte. Hell some minivans may give you a run from a stop if it has awd lol, we just don’t have a very fast car
The ITS is definitely not a straight line car and especially not a drag racer. It gets the job done but yeah someone would be delusional to think it's a go to for these purposes.

That said, higher speed roll races, it definitely punches above it's class. Sure the 340i trounces it from a stop but do a 80-140 pull and I don't think the ITS stock for stock would be too far off. Put the ITS behind the 340i and I would guarantee it would be incapable of gapping it.

You also have to factor in that the 340i is realistically about $10k USD more than the ITS, much more in Canada, and when it comes to straight line speed, or performance in general, it's pay to play, so no surprise there.

oh for sure the m340i is more expensive and 80-140 idk lol I’m old and 100 is where I stop but yeah definitely different car classes but the OP said he beat one and that’s just not possible unless the m340 or m240 or anything with an m in front of its numbers isn’t trying. That being said I had an m340 and it was a one trick pony which was just straight line speed and better interior but love my DE5 and would choose it over an m340 any day.

Traded in an X2 M35i for my ITS. From a stop, my bmw would take it to about 80, where it starts to roll off the power a bit. If I start from a roll in second gear and let er rip, I'll take my bmw!

Thats my old car. BMW m240i. Same engine as the Supra. 3.0 v6 good for 300 hp stock. When flashed that thing puts down almost 400 hp.

Anyone can go fast in a straight line. I'd be more impressed in the twisties.
yea I like the twisties too

I think it actually ends up being more than 10k more after you add things

Depends what you get. I tried to be fair by starting with both base prices for 2025 (5k difference) and then including a reasonable amount of options because if you get all the major packages I think you can get up to $20k difference, a lot of that being cosmetic as opposed to features or go fast parts.

Seems to me, some folks are missing the whole point of the ITS. Straight line speed is generally a matter of hp, which is a matter of money. You can buy all the speed you want. The ITS is, IMO, a well-balanced car that is fun to drive. It's the only front driver I've ever cared to own, after driving a number of them. When I was doing a lot of club track stuff, I had a ZO6 and a Porsche GT3. Those were very fast and great handling cars. But as a road-only driver now, the ITS is perfectly competent to have some fun on a good road. Whether it's faster between stop lights than a given BMW is sort of an insult to both of them.

Some folks don’t like hearing that.. the dude got a “kill” on the open road. let him bask in his victory ?

but yeah … ITS is cool… “M light” cars with tunes and bolt ons are (and always have been) great power/speed cars. Had a basic Dinan tune on an 09 335i back in the day and it was really fun. had a loaner m340i a couple years back when my M3CS was getting the break-in service. The suspension in the M340i (M light) did not feel good at all. Squishy when driving it hard and harsh when cruising down the highway. Just didn’t like it. It definitely had nice power delivery tho but prefer the ITS for “drivers car” grins.

back on topic … stop filming yourself street racing … lol. It’s a bad habit, illegal most places and clearly doesn’t impress anyone.

Yes, it was not a wise decision, especially considering the videos on his profile where the license plate is clearly visible while he’s speeding on highways.

The bmw wasn’t racing you, you can clearly see when you hit the gas the bmw didn’t. Tbh the bmw was just messing around no body wants a racing ticket. Cool story but that bmw hands you a L all day everyday. Now a road course is a different game those bmw’s really tip the scales and that’s where the type s shines.
