I am looking for a kit or a mod that will automatically turn on the Brake Hold. AI thinks there is one out there, but I cannot find it. I think there may be a liability issue with companies making it for safety reasons. Also, it's harder to code than you would think. AI thought it would simulate the feature being on by pushing the button a few seconds after the car starts. This might not work because of two issues I have learned.
1) The Brake Hold will not come on unless the driver's seat belt is on.
2) The Brake Hold will not come on unless the car has been put into gear once.
Is anyone seeing item 2 happen on their car, or knows of a mod available? Please let me know.

What problem are you trying to solve?

There is already a hill assist if you are in gear stopping the car from rolling back immediately.

I don't think it needs to have been put in gear. The brake pedal needs to be pressed when you engage it. Just get into the habit of turning it on every time you start the car. You'll even feel cool like in movies where they flip a bunch of switches prior to taking off on a plane.
I have my own muscle memory every time I start the car (Clutch in, Start car, Put in Neutral, Shake the shifter excessively, Clutch out, Individual mode, Foot on brake, E-brake down, Brake hold (I stopped doing that one because I like rolling back and forth at lights)).

This is news to me! I guess I never did test the car without the Brake Hold engaged. I tested this morning on my way to work, and it behaved just like my BRZ. I did want to say that I have been driving manuals ever since I got my learner's license, and I can easily pull out on an incline without rolling backwards. I just wanted to be clear if anyone was thinking I am trying to give away my man card. 🤣 The feature does make it easier, and I like using it.
You may have solved my problem by telling me about hill assist now that I know the car has it. I do like one feature of the Brake Hold is that when I unbuckle my seat belt, it turns on the emergency brake automatically.

You might be right. I may just need to add it to my pre-flight checklist. The Brake Hold does have one downfall for me. Similar to you liking to roll, I like stopping at red lights and taking my foot off the brake. Effectively, turning off my brake lights. I get a little joy from showing the car behind me that yes, I let my foot off the brake and I am not rolling forward, announcing to them that I am driving a manual. The Brake Hold negates this, leaving the brake light on while in use.

I can completely relate haha. That was in part another reason why I stopped using the brake hold. Although I feel that if people care enough that you drive manual, they likely know that the Type S only comes in manual.

Regarding the hill assist, I previously had a Jetta and a GTI that both had it. The Jetta's was more sensitive and would take less of a slope before activating. The GTI's was more like the Integra's, but I was able to tweak a setting with an OBDEleven and make it more like the Jetta's. A little bit a downgrade in that department when I got the Integra, but I've since gotten used to it. Like you, I've been driving only manuals since I was 16 so I have nothing against not having hill assist. But it's more of a convenience feature at this point - if it exists, I like it to work how I want it.

Yes, I am not naive to the fact that my brake lights turning off at a red light is missed by 99.9% of the population, or they just don't care.

That's good to know. I do have an OBO2 scanner. I'll see if it can change any settings for the ITS.

If you figure out how to do it, please post. I haven't seen anything like this for the Integra yet aside from diagnostic / service mode type things. VW was super customizable and let you change all kinds of things from the hill assist sensitivity to light behavior to hidden menus in the infotainment. Almost everything was in German though so that added another layer of fun.

Just get a "Save the Manuals" license plate frame, that's what I did so people don't confuse me with a lesser man who bought a CVT and give me the respect I deserve. 🤣

Be careful what you wish for ..... my MK8 VW GTI (manual) daily driver has that damn hill assist - which is an awful "feature". Have stalled the engine at least 8 times at intersections when it's failed to release in a timely manner. Don't drive the ITS enough to know if Honda's version is better behaved than VW's (but am hoping it could be).
