So im scrolling through the infotainment screen and I notice on the last screen it looks like "App install". Can you actually install 3rd party apps ie apk files? It would be cool if you can install the Hondata app on the unit. Or is it just for Acura approve apps?

Noticed that too. Honestly I’m not sure. On the fk8 iirc U had to root the head unit first no?

The underlying OS is a flavor of Android. I put mine into developer mode by tapping the build version 7 times which if you have the development IDE on a laptop would allow you to install/uninstall apps via a command line interface. That said, I don't recommend it as putting it into dev mode lost the backup camera which was only resolved by performing a full reset to factory defaults.

I can second this. I ended up changing some setting that sets the screen to automatically sleep after 10-15 seconds of inactivity. I don't remember if I changed it or it turned on by default with no way to shut it back off. Eventually I fixed it, probably with a factory reset.
